So I have been plagiarizing.
And I am puzzled as to how to continue on.
My initial idea for MC gaining his random skills is via copying villains from other works.
First of, if I am copying a character, I am taking the entire stock.
For example, if I was to copy Ultraman (DC's, not Japan's), MC will have the whole package of a Kryptonian plus crippling smack addiction, fear of sunlight and raging mental instability.
However, if I am to copy a common skill such as laser eyes, I will take from Homelander, Cyclops and Part One Dio and only the part of them using the eyebeams. So less power from one single character, less shitty personalities shoved into MC.
The same thing is with villain's weapons such as Ren Amaki's sword. While the cheat does not allow MC to materialise the weapon directly into hand, it allows MC to use all of the weapon's quirks such as the Absorption and Bypass as well as the weapon proficiency from scattered memories of Ren and his predecessors.
So three methods of copying:
1. The whole character and entire arsenal.
2. A common skill shared by many villains.
3. A signature weapon.
I will be introducing all three to the random because I am completely unabashed by the fact that I am plagiarising the gacha genre that had been out of style for a long time.
A part of me however, is somewhat unhappy with no. 1 and no. 2 because initially, what I was trying to plagiarise from another CN was copying ONE super powerful skill from one single villain at a time. For example, Shigaraki's Decay, Father's Philosophy Stone and Valentine's D4C.
I might still do that, but then like all nuclear options for main characters, it either make the work boring real fast or scaled the remaining characters into ludicrously powerful and MC ends up a punching bag.
I really don't want to be like a CN I read that sullied the martial arts of JinYong and GuLong.
