So I was thinking, would it be a wise idea to have mc's monologue in the first chapter?

Like mc directly talking about what happened to him in the last few days before the main story begun.

3rd pov.

Might as well describe what happened in 3rd person. I never liked long monologues because spacing always looked weird when I broke them apart into multiple paragraphs. As for one giant paragraph, I tend to avoid putting anything over 3 lines.

You mean a narrative summary? Sure. I've seen it done plenty of time before. Never had any problem with it. The only problem you may have is if it's not interesting enough.

Simple.

Try finding novels or animes that did that (successfully). Repeating for XXth time, the best way to get better at writing is by reading more.
-----
Btw small tip.
Most often, this kind of monologue start...
They are kinda a time-skip content.
you knooooow, the "How did we arrive at this kind of situation i wonder" self restrospective or "I am dying" protag moment (but of course will be saved when the plot arrive at this moment).

But personal preference i kinda don't like them.
I prefer the normal that explain in a half-narrator way.

Coincidence, the most recent novel i read got a narrator explanation beginning.
001-Is Miss Gan Yu still the same?
The sun sets in the west, but at night the streets of Liyue are brightly lit, just like daytime.
The constant noise and laughter on the streets gradually faded away a lot, and more of them flowed towards the more prosperous streets. Some blacksmith shops, souvenir shops, Jie Cui Xing, etc. were closed.
Some small shops that have no business are also dealing with the final matters and preparing to close. At this moment, there is still a restaurant with its door open. It still looks so out of place with the surrounding shops.
However, the owners of the surrounding shops were not surprised by this, and instead greeted him enthusiastically.
"Hey, Boss Lu, are you the same today?"
"Old Wang, please stop teasing me. Don't you still know how my business is going?"
The man known as Boss Lu smiled helplessly.
This also made Lao Wang, the owner of a neighboring shop, smile.
"If it really doesn't work, try doing some other business. You're always like this, so that's not an option, right?"
"talk later."
The man known as Boss Lu just shook his head gently, which made Lao Wang not choose to continue to persuade him. After all, he was just an outsider in this matter.
So he just silently prepared to close the stall and said to the man called Boss Lu.
"Then I wish you a prosperous business, Boss Lu."
The man called Boss Lu smiled slightly and nodded in this way.
The man who was later called Boss Lu stood under his restaurant, looking at the returns around Liyue Port in a daze. After a long time, he sighed slowly.
"No matter how prosperous Liyue Port is, it is not my home after all..."
Sighing like this, he walked into his restaurant.
Looking around the restaurant, Lu Qingci couldn't help but recall how he came to this world in the first place.
As an ordinary college student, he accidentally heard his father say that his ancestors used to be some kind of royal chef, and there seemed to be some antiques and the like.
So out of curiosity, he went to the basement of his home and rummaged around.
Finally, he accidentally found a pair of kitchen utensils and a contract that seemed to be related to a certain restaurant property. It turned out that when he was cleaning up the kitchen utensils, he accidentally cut his hand and dripped blood on it. Lord and other reasons.
With a confused look on his face, he found that he had appeared in this place inexplicably and became the owner of this restaurant.
After trying many methods, he finally accepted his fate.
And confirmed that he had traveled to a country called Liyue that was similar to ancient China. It would have been fine if it was just that, but Lu Qingci later discovered that this world seemed to be a country with gods.
At first, he thought it was something like feudal superstition, but later he soon discovered that this was a real country with gods, and it was not some ignorant superstition of the ancients.
This further convinced him that he had probably really traveled through time.
But life has to go on, so after accepting the reality, he tried to support himself. Compared with the ancient world in this era, he tried to support himself. ."
As a modern person, he basically has no skills to survive. It is precisely because of this that after comprehensive consideration, he found that the only skill that allowed him to survive here was probably
It's time to cook.
So he relied on the ancestral contract he dug out from the basement to take over this somewhat shabby restaurant, intending to conquer them with his delicious food.
But he obviously still thought too simply.
Lu Qingci glanced at the crowds on the street, but without any intention of soliciting customers, he just turned back to the store and carefully wiped the flawless tables.
Half a month ago, he would still warmly greet people on the street to come in and sit down. He was confident that he could leave the customers' hearts after tasting his dishes, but now he already knows the destination of these diners. .
Manmin Hall.
It is said that Wanmin Tang is the most famous and powerful restaurant in Liyue. Both locals in Liyue and travelers passing through this place will go to Wanmin Tang to sit down.
In comparison, other restaurants and restaurants in Liyue can be described as "tragic".

Monologue is the best part of any show imo, of course, it must be done right. You should write whatever you want.
