huge place in my gaming memories, so seeing it get this kind of love all these years later honestly feels surreal—in the best way. The fact that ArenaNet is rolling out remastered graphics
and proper Steam Deck and controller support shows real respect for the game and its community. That alone makes the update exciting, but keeping the full core experience (Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall) at just $20 for new players is incredible value and feels very on-brand for Guild Wars’ player-first philosophy. I played extensively back in the day, and what always stood out was how unique it felt compared to other MMORPGs—
build crafting in minecraft, skill balance, story-driven campaigns, and the ability to enjoy so much of the game solo or cooperatively without the usual MMO grind.
