Hello, fellow authors who are beginning or are well ahead in their journey I'm curious to ask what site you use to write your novels because I only used to use Google Docs, but now I've come across this site called Novlr and I happily recommend it for those who are wanting a decent place to write in. This is just a site I recommend if you're not comfortable with Google Docs, I just had issues with the system.

In novlr you can make your "books" and "chapters" inside them, I just find it neat. I've got a screenshot of what it's like again you dont have to try it, just want to share this. Theres another one I recommend for offline use called Obsidian, I don't use that much anymore though.

I use yWriter on my laptop (for my actual writing), and I use NovelAI on my phone (Not the AI feature, I just like the dark blue UI)

How is it sus? it has a pleasing color scheme, and I use the same scheme for my yWriter on my pc. my novelAI is just on my phone. it's easier on the eyes to have the same color scheme between both devices.

I've tried Microsoft Word, Ommwriter, Scrivener, and now I just write everything on Google Docs. The benefits of working in the cloud won out in the end. I know I can always write/continue a chapter wherever I am.

Scrivener is also good as a tool to keep all your notes, characters and worldbuilding in one place.

Also a shout out for Aeon Timeline, which I use to keep the events of the series in order.

I use the editor inside prowritingaid and save to their cloud. They ask for a lot money a year, so let's get the most of it! They also have "chapters" inside chapters.

Google docs is great, but I'm trying to lower my reliance on only one service I have no control over. Oo in case I speak about something Google doesn't like on youtube, I would have nuked not only my email, but also my android account, docs, photos... So I use onedrive, it has online word and with office 365 it also has 1TB space, so it's good enough I would say :)

I use google docs and Microsoft word, switching between both of them depending on where I write. (I write at work sometimes LOL). I use a customized heading feature to help me organize chapters, and I created a folder on my computer where I have folders for each story: the chapters, informational details, outline, extras, scrapped bits. When I open the doc, it automatically collapses all the headings too, so that I'm not dealing with closing them every time I reopen the doc and load up 35,000+ words. Makes it easier to scroll through the doc and navigate. I use the comment feature for adding notes and/or leaving me reminders about things I include. Footnotes for notes on anything I come up with for that set universe.

These other recommended websites/apps sound good though... Might check them out.

I'm a big fan of writinghabit.app but it's gotten more and more monetized lately so I've been thinking about switching to gdocs like the homie Keene up there.
But it tracks your writing streak and I'm on 207 days.... can't lose the streak....

I use microsoft word, I actually subbed to the whole kit to sort of make me feel forced to use it. The cloud storage is kinda nice. It didn't really work all that well though, paying for it I mean, I still procrastinated for about a year and a half before I typed out the first chapter this January.

For anyone using Google docs, check out the new Tabs feature. It lets you organize and rearrange your chapters! This was all I really needed.

I've tried many different kinds: Google Docs, RichTextEdit (RTF), NeoOffice, LibreOffice, Pages, Microsoft Word, but right now I'm using RichTextEdit (RTF), Google Docs, and Pages. I use RichTextEdit for rough-drafting, Google Docs for editing/revising, and Pages to keep track of word count.
