So I started a series and since I'm planning to add various data like character stats , item desc, skill desc, world info etc. should I stick to just updating chapters or maybe add a sheets instead with all details?
For reference please check my series Dicera. Your help is greatly appreciated.

P.s. yes this is asking for help and promotion at the same time xd

P.p.s yes I tried glossary and its actually good now should I stick to glossary only or add spreadsheets for more detailed descriptions?

If you can find a way to add it into the chapter, I would do that. Either through formatting or even just taking a snapshot and adding the image.

Readers are lazy. They probably won't click a link.
That makes sense honestly. Though I fear if the table gets bigger as the world expands hope they add a search function where readers can just type a word and the info comes out right away.

The likelihood of your average reader doing that is pretty small. Not that I don't think many would but the average just wants to have their brain go numb and intake their random stuff for the week/day.

A select few might. Those that are really into that shit. Everyone else though? Maybe. Probably not.

Sounds like the base use case for the glossary to me
Looks like glossary it is then time to check how to use glossary here in scribblehub
So yep I tried the glossary and it works wonders. But I will keep this poll for another reason. Should I stick to glossary only or make a spreadsheet for everything?

Which ever you think works the best for you. Personally I like to keep a separate document for the world, plot, characters, etc. so that everything is right in front of me, but I am not you so idk…

I actually did this already but my problem is how to integrate this spreadsheet here at scribblehub. Like mentioned in ken comment above adding link or image might be the way but the problem with images later on is if the story expanded.

That said it's just the start of the story so I guess glossary and constant updates of my chapters(world, item, skills, characters) might be my best bet for now so thank you for your suggestions ~

I tend to be one of those people who would only look at a glossary/table if something suddenly made no sense to me. The light novels I read do have something like a glossary, but it's usually an overview of the MC's abilities + a short description of the most important NPCs - depending on the complexity, that should be enough. Personally, I don't need more than that, as I just want to read the story and assume that it's already presented in a way that makes sense to me as a reader.

Understandable. I am simply preparing if the story gets big enough after all I am pretty sure I can't remember every single thing I write so glossary or spreadsheet can help looking info right away
