I'm so behind on writing and am playing catch up almost every day... but it's hot... and I'm melting...

So, let's just let my eyes melt into texts! :blobtaco: But... I'm too lazy to dig for some myself... :blob_pout:

Okie, in short, I'm looking for stuffie to read. Preferably the following~

[Fanfiction] Lord of the Mysteries :blob_sir:, Harry Potter, Naruto, One Piece, Doulou Dalu, (Maybe Marvel and DC)....

[Originals]

My favorites are those with a comedic writing style like A Will Eternal, but something like Warlock of the Magus World, Eternals of the Wizarding World, Lord of the Mysteries, Trascendant Dawn, etc. Wizards and Dark Fantasy will do.

Otherwise, Constructing God Kingdoms genre or fantasy worlds with gods along the lines of Night Ranger... I do sometimes enjoy transmigrated into novel genre like Novel's Extra if it's good~

Note, I do have some requirements~
  • At least 30 chapters available to read... I'll probably only read 5 if it's eh, but if any less, I'll probably end up waiting for it to pile up and binge on.
  • AI-generated is fine, but please be something that has been heavily edited. I'm already throwing up trying to edit the nonsense the AI sometimes spit back out for me, and I don't really want to stuff more unedited stuff down my throat.
  • Translations are fine, but don't expect to see me on the site if it fits my taste (Something like Part Time Employee in Konoha, Naruto: This Uchiha is too Serious) because... I'll probably be reading the google translated raws :blob_hide:

Now, I'm mainly looking for things to read, but it's supposedly feedback seasons... So uh... if you really, really want to throw your story into the fire, just leave a note on your comment. Do note, my feedback will be kinda lazy, but if you feed me something bad...

Just know that, it's really hot, like reaaallllly hot. I'm being roasted and I don't mind roasting your story so hard that your grandma didn't see it coming. :blobspearpeek: :blob_hmph:

P.S. I'm too lazy to check on thread everyday, so don't expect to see feedback daily :blob_hide:

Hm... Would dark Romance/fantasy work for you? Unsure if that's something you're willing to read, though.

For romance, I do enjoy something alone the lines of the drama Three Lives, Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms and for novels, angst like Adonis Next Door: 100 Days of Forced Love. Pure fluffy stuff is good, but I've read too many of those already. :blob_gift:

If it's just dark fantasy and no romance, I enjoy the ones where the MC will do anything to crawl their way up~ preferably the evil, no moral codes, ingenious type, best with comedy, but can do with pure darkness that has no sunshine and daisies. Too much sun these days, I say. :blob_pout:

Normally I don't drop my stuff in review piles, but I figured I'd do it for once since you're fine with evil bad guys. Signature.

Too much sun these days, I say.
Mine is far from fluff. There are sunny days and moments, but there are more thunderstorms and angst than anything else. I focus on romance/fantasy, which is dark, gory, and can be pretty psychological, but I've been told I have naturally occurring lighter moments, too. The dark comes from situations in which the couples find themselves rather than rivals and other romance tropes. (It's not that I don't fall into some tropes; I bet I do. AKA misunderstandings <3)

It is hard to express, but they have a little of everything. I hope you enjoy it! And I don't mind to throw it on the fire. I'm always looking for ways to improve!

The Shadows Within
This is my version of an Isekai. It currently has 13 chapter updates twice a week and 80-something chapters already done. I have finished the novel; I am just posting slowly so I can edit and write new stuff.

The Gate of Shadows
This is a rewrite of my first novels posted on this site. It currently has 55 chapters released and 130-something chapters, along with two other books I haven't rewritten/edited entirely yet but are done. (Updates 4 times a week.) The original has 10k word chapters and is very much a first draft. These rewrites aren't perfect, but they are 100% better than the originals. Not that I expect you to read that long, but yep!

(Only mentioning the chapters since you wanted 30+)

You can read mine.
:blobspearpeek: Not even 30 chapters, but... almost there, so took a dip.
  • Editing is decently done, but I can still see commonly used AI-generated terms like ethereal, elusive, ordeal, born of necessity, found solace, etc... a lot just in first chapter. I would've tossed it into the dumpster if the premise wasn't actually okay.
  • Seriously, didn't really meet the genres I listed above, except for god-like being. Still, it wasn't the god stuff in my good books. No domain or kingdom of god. It's more closer to the overpowered protagonist genre. I really don't want to be that Guy, but I really want to kai the Eight gates and use Night Guy to kick you into the gate of death.
  • Seriously, is this Renko-chan trying to pull a Hinata? Carefree romance with zero depth like this hurts makes me roll my eyes so much it turns my eyes white.
Sorry, but not my cup of tea. :blob_teary: Only did some very, very light roasting though. Don't take it too hard. There are peeps enjoying your story and that should be enough to melt your heart. But like I said... :blob_hmph:

Check out my series maybe one of them will up to your alley, I did start out with writing a xianxia-inspired story. :blobsip:
Oh, yes, yes, I've read your Harry Potter Fanfiction: Era of Darkness, and it was an extremely spectacular take on the Harry Potter Verse. The twist is just wonderful, and the characters kept me reading until I binged it all till 165. Now, I'm just waiting for more chapters to pile up~ :blob_cookie:

Things I do like:
  • How you slotted the original characters like Hermione, Krum, and Neville into your own AU.
  • Lots of unique dialogue, really nice pacing (though somewhat slower later due to talk, talk, talk and meetings)
  • Well done new AU characters like MC and Quincy

Things I don't like:
  • Can't say you made Dumbledore bad, but a personal dislike perhaps.
  • Fleur seemed really out of character for some odd reason before you killed her off. Ehhhh....
  • Siriusly, why? Just why? Him and Weasley. Bah!
  • Something not present in many of the novels I do enjoy: Herpo - overused grandpa trope

No roasting here yet, but please don't let things get hairy, or I'll have to deduct 40 gazillion points from Grrrryyyfindor. :blob_evil:

:blob_aww: I can totally understand those points and why you didn't like those parts~ It is fair.

You could also give a shot at my originals, as the fanfic is just my side project. Maybe? :blob_hide:

Not really a gem I would marvel about, but thanks for the rec~ :blob_hide:

Yes, gave it a read all the way to the end of the volume... it wasn't bad, but there were some parts that did bug me~ :blobspearpeek:
  • Good start, interesting premise, grotesque enough to get me hooked and read till the end, but a bit repetitive (fight, grow by mating, fight, mate...). Not so much world building yet, but seen some fantasy elements of genre I do enjoy, like mages, knights :blob_cookie:
  • Decent editing, almost thought it was written by human, until ya glitched out, leaving some AI words that just jumps out to me, like poised (in battle scenes) and testament. There were also repetitions that bugged me, like chapter 9, where ya repeated "must protect the children/family" multiple times almost back to back or your description of the bug's mating with almost verbatim wording. Sometimes, ya like to start chapters repeating what's mentioned in the previous chapter, with almost same wording (like when ya mentioned 3 days until human reinforcement comes) Fortunately, these only happened in a few chapters.
  • Evolution type nonhuman MC is kinda okay in my books, but this MC's brain must have glitched out. Not too smart. Doesn't use burrowing abilities efficiently (except for start where it's used to collapse watch towers in a village, doesn't really use it much after: could've built network of tunnels everywhere or tunnel to live under city for sustainable kidnapping), lives in forest instead of hole in ground, rushes to fight head-on every battle (even after blabbing about planning everything, using traps, etc.), rushes to provoke humans instead of hunting forest creatures for food first to grow hive. Based on the background story, it's understandable why the MC is not too intelligent, but... it really is an off-putter, especially since it doesn't look like intellect is growing much... like comon, MC went to run down a dragon, kinda won cause of plot armor too. :blob_pout:
  • First person writing is well done. Really like the bold emphasis on emotions in monologue and dialogue. Too bad some third-person descriptions of emotions needs to be worked on. Someone in comment mentioned the strange usage of defiant. There's also the glitchy, lackluster description of the villagers, as if all they know is fear, defiance, and otherwise repetitive words ... Of course, they're not the main focus of story, but yea, kinda bugs me, just like how it can sometimes be annoying to see the word "bug" and "glitched" used multiple times in this glitched roast.
  • Finally... chapter release way too low, but it's understandable since this is project #97 instead of project #1 on your priority list.
Eh, that's bout it. Okie, pie glitching out~ :blob_sir:

You know, seeing the word bugged and glitched in the review everywhere annoys me too. I would make counterpoints, but I think the review is fair. This is my first time writing a story ever, so I appreciate the feedback. I hated writing this volume because it's not very interesting and is pretty repetitive. Gets better imo. Hopefully the next one is better.

You said 30~ so I hope you give this a read when the time comes. (First volume ends at chapter 26). Been super busy with exams these days, so I can comfortably upload only once a week, chapters are on the bigger side though (about 3k mark)

Marvel/DC fanfic is eh in my books, but I do enjoy some along the lines of Killing Makes Me Stronger and mash-ups like Marvel's Hogwarts Wizard and Track of the Dawn in the Marvel World. :blob_cookie:

On the other hand, I've read a few novels like Black Tech Internet Cafe System, which also uses games to train people (kinda like what this gem was going for). I do enjoy these genre somewhat, but I'm there for the comedy, or in other words, the reaction of the world to the store owner. It's kinda repetitive, but I sometimes stay if it has a good hook...

Let's just say The Game Cafe in Marvel and DC didn't have an aroma marvelous enough to hold me down. The idea is decent, and it might get better down the line, but the start was back to back descriptions of MC designing a game. Yes, this is needed for story, but unless one is fascinated with game design itself, there's not much interest in reading this... especially since there was no system, external team reactions during the design process, nor progression in building up the world. Just stuff everything in, which is no different than just skipping over to the gaming part directly. Putting these game building at start really wasn't a Superman move in my books. :blobspearpeek:

Now, for the gaming part, I can say the same. I'm sure many would enjoy watching someone playing a game with others reacting to the gameplay (during the process) rather than just watching someone struggle in the game. Rather dull. Seriously, if it's gonna be about a survival game, I would rather see Hulk smash the screen in. :blob_evil:

Then, there's the cheat itself. Everything was handed over on a silver platter (which most stories with cheats do), but this one... smh. Gotta leave some progression, at least at start. A game is fun only when there's progression, and this one's a story about a game designer... Might need to ask Wanda for a reality check. :blob_pout:

Pretty sure many could enjoy this gem, but if it were me, I would ask the Supreme One for the time gem to avoid drinking this cup of tea. :blob_sir:
