It is no strange that the generation latching onto tech too much is going a little... What could I say, uhm... Berserk? Yeah, probably.
Back then, they would probably just go to their room or display a sad face whenever their source of entertainment device was taken away from them.
Now? Oh boi, it gets quite wild.
In the West (Along with European countries) we have kids' tantrums happening in nearly every school there.
The worst part is that the teachers of these schools- some of them, specifically - have their disciplinaries stripped away by the schools' rules.
And to top it off, most of the parents who reported their children being quirky are the same parents who gave them a device full of entertainment, positivity, and of course... Degeneracy.
Yup, they somehow forgot to control nor notice the wrongs that their kids are watching.
In the east, however, it's a little controlled gladly. The parents comment harshly about what their children are watching on their phones.
For instance, take a look at Ary (A made-up Alias) my younger brother. I have a total of 4 siblings and lots of cousins, and he happens to be the second child in the family. Born in 2013, he inherited some of my tendencies and likes (along with some brain cells.
This'll be important later). He learns about the internet fast, discerning knowledge fast, and doing anything internet-related REAL FAST.
But well, not as fast as me as I always saw him having difficulties with Chrome's features.
And here we are to the point I'm sure you guys are interested.
Is he a part of the doomed generation?
Well, to me, he is not. Screw it, why not bring my other siblings in? They all are damn good at receiving the contents of the internet.
And just like earlier, they're doing so better than my parents and the entire family. But, they lack the proper sense to differentiate which contents are real and which aren't.
Yeah, they're under the age of 10 and they understand the daily meme culture better than me, I admit.
If you were wondering, I brought my little oldest sibling because he's better than the others. And they too, don't suffer being a gen alpha.
Why?
My parents are very strict on what we can watch and what we cannot. It's not that we're highly prohibited, it's just that we'll consistently be side-eyed and yelled at to change the video we were watching. The most they'll do is take the remote/device away from us and tell us "You're not worth holding this." Or, in the case of a tv remote, "It's my/father's turn on the tv."
That rarely happens though because we kept quickly switching videos whenever what we deemed as 'will be harassed by parents' was playing. We cannot afford to live in the house with those sharp side-eyes.
They do get a little strange, based on the slang they often speak. But, it's in a controllable state.
What about you guys' experiences?
