From Push-Ups to Dragon Chaos: Dive Into I Was Just Doing Push-Ups When I Got Dragged Into a Dragon Realm on ScribbleHub! ??

? Attention fantasy junkies, manga maniacs, and chaos chasers! ?
Ever wondered what happens when a guy doing push-ups for kicks gets isekai’d into a dragon-filled death world? Get ready for I Was Just Doing Push-Ups When I Got Dragged Into a Dragon Realm, a LitRPG fantasy that’s Solo Leveling intensity, Hunter x Hunter stakes, and The Greatest Estate Developer madness in one wild ride!

What’s the Story?

Meet Han Jihoon, a 20-year-old Seoul college dropout who’s been smashing the One Punch Man workout (100 push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, 10 km run) just because he’s a stubborn manga nerd. He’s got zero magic, zero destiny—until a gate rips open the sky, monsters swarm, and he’s yanked into Drakensoul Academy, a dragon city where power is king and survival’s a coin toss.

? Here’s the Vibe:
  • Epic fights against reality-bending beasts and cocky dragon prodigies.
  • A snarky system that’s as clueless as Jihoon.
  • Adaptive Resonance and Voidstep powers that evolve mid-battle.
  • A chaotic squad: Jihoon, the stubborn underdog; Ren, the gremlin mage; and Evan, the silent sword god.
  • Humor, heart, and high stakes—shonen anime with a dash of existential dread.

Why You’ll Be Hooked

  • Jihoon’s relatable AF: No chosen-one nonsense, just a guy surviving on grit, wit, and dumb luck.
  • Worldbuilding that pops: Dragon City’s got floating islands, mana storms, and vending machines that demand your soul.
  • Side characters that shine: Ren’s cursed pancakes, Lira Noctharis’s cryptic aura, and Evan’s quiet menace steal scenes.
  • Fast-paced chaos: From labyrinth death traps to eldritch meatballs that hate reality, every chapter’s a banger.
  • Manga-inspired energy: Perfect for Solo Leveling, Tower of God, or Omniscient Reader fans.

What Readers Are Raving

"It’s like Sung Jinwoo got trapped in a dragon-themed Hunger Games with a hyperactive narrator!"
"Ren’s my chaos gremlin, and Jihoon’s ‘not dying today’ vibe is my new mantra."
"The world feels alive, the fights are fire, and the banter keeps me glued!"

Commercial writing......

Took the time to make a snide comment so I might as well read it later. Definitely not a good first impression for me tho

Took literally every popular trope or concept of the last year and paired it with the most common edge lord and basic fantasy building blocks?

:blob_unamused::blob_unsure::blob_awkward::blob_hmm_two:

That is one hell of a hard sell. It'd require an absolute genius writer to do something with this that isn't just open-and-close because we know exactly where it goes and what happens without even reading.

More readers than mine, though, so hah...

Hey, I get that first impressions matter, and not every promo lands the way it’s intended. Still, I appreciate you taking the time to check it out—even if it started off with a bit of sarcasm. Hopefully the story itself leaves a better impression than the post did!

Totally fair take—tropes can definitely feel tired when they’re everywhere. I won’t pretend I’m reinventing the genre, but I’m more focused on the how than the what. Sometimes familiar elements hit different depending on the voice behind them. Either way, appreciate you checking it out. Hope it surprises you if you ever do give it a read.

I very badly suspect this is AI... or I did until I opened the novel.

You skip into a new paragraph every other sentence. The grammar needs work. And your protagonist guy not only has a very similar name to Sung Jinwoo, the dude literally references other novels over and over again. You know copyright exists, right? He even says 'I'm in my own manga now'. He feels like he's a cringey edgy failure just by existing.

...As a South Korean, I feel insulted.

Lastly, this line:
"It’s like Sung Jinwoo got trapped in a dragon-themed Hunger Games with a hyperactive narrator!"
The second I read this, I assumed this was going to be a badly written fanfic. I was not disappointed.

As a South Korean, I feel impressed.
This is accurate. We are 100% like this.
Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

When you grow up, you either become a cringey edgy failure because you failed to enter a good university or become another slave to the corporatocracy.

Yeah, lmaooooo. Oh, and you don't 'dropout' of a university in Korea, too. Why would you drop out? You never drop out.

I'm curious what university this dude went to. He can go from 'stupid but passionate nice kid who made a mistake', to 'stupid and lazy waste of space', depending on that, you know. Still edgy and cringe either way, but still.

Edit: Just realized by 'Seoul college dropout'... they meant Seoul University. Nevermind. MC's a genius. I'm the failure.

Do you go there? You sound like you go there.

...Anyway, hear me out. Your protagonist dude? He better be some perfect Asian genius.

Do you know how much I am suffering to go to uni rn? If he... decided he was too good for Seoul University, to the point that he quit? Dude better be the next Einstein or something. Right now he reads like someone my mom will tell to avoid, but I'll keep going anyway. If he slips even once...

Remember. I am watching you. :blobspearpeek:

Hello, thank you for your input. I can see your arguments, and to be honest, I welcome your feedback.
As for the style of writing, I know that it is a little jarring with the paragraphing and the pace. It's something that I'm actively working on as I revise the chapters—your feedback will help me do so.

And as for Sung Jinwoo comparisons, I can see how the name and the references might be mistaken to be similar to that kind of vibe, but I wasn't attempting to borrow or to plagiarize anything. I just wanted to make the protagonist do his own thing and some of the references are actually more of a nod to the genre as a whole and not a plagiarization at all. I know that it might be a bit too on the nose, so I'll try to be more aware of that as I continue writing.

Finally, I didn't intend to offend anyone, not even with that line you mentioned. I'm balancing on thin ice between trying to be funny and being serious, but I understand how that might be taken otherwise. Once more, I greatly value your time in writing such a thoughtful comment. I will definitely consider it as I keep working on developing the story more. Thanks for reading!

Maybe rebrand as a parody?
Appreciate the suggestion! I can see how the humor and self-awareness might give off parody vibes—but this story was written as an original progression fantasy with a chaotic tone, not as a satire of the genre.
The jokes and genre-bending moments are intentional, but they're there to support the world and the character journey—not to mock the genre. Think more "character-driven chaos with heart" than straight-up parody.
That said, I totally get how it might read that way at first glance—and if it made you laugh and care about the MC, then maybe it’s doing exactly what it set out to do. Appreciate you reading!

Considering how heavily it is relying on other stories to build your content, such as outright describing it as something "straight out of X", makes calling it an original story a hell of a stretch, but sure.

I guess I can't really criticize. You already have way more readers than me.

Totally fair take and honestly, you’re right about the early references. The opening leans hard into the humor and meta vibes, partly because Jihoon thinks he’s living in someone else’s story. That’s on purpose.
But as the chapters go on, those nods start fading because Jihoon starts realizing he’s not Sung Jinwoo or some anime MC. He’s just Jihoon. And the world he’s in doesn’t care about punchlines.
So yeah, the beginning’s loud, nerdy, and a little unhinged on purpose. It’s his coping mechanism and kind of mine too. Appreciate you reading this far!

First time I'm against Stony's opinion... Never thought this day would come.

I read ALL of the chapters and well, the writing is veeeery. Like veryyy. It even still has those bold schrift a certain butler loves do to. BUT... I do NOT think its comes from the OH Great Butler, but rather was just HEAVELY overworked by them.

Anyway, make your thing. If you wanna hear a tip; Tone a little down.
