I won’t show it yet maybe tomorrow but I’m happy with the final result of my Opening Drafts for the novel I was trying my hand at. It’s not perfect and is held back by me being dyslexic and not having flowery words when I want them but it’s functioning well enough for what it is.
Interest is in the hands of readers and if they can’t find anything interesting then it most likely is because of my lacking wording rather than the events themselves (maybe both but the baseline an author has to have is think their story is interesting).
So for those unaware of the story I’m talking about, it’s a subversion on the Novel Extra genre where the extras accidentally ruined the original story by interfering with canon events. This lead to the death of the world and except two people.
The last two survivors got into a fight and one of them reached the realm of a God of Destruction at that moment. He bargains his existence with the conceptual entity of ‘The End’ and resets the timeline but with another soul added to the mix.
This new soul would partially inherit the powers of the two outsiders that ruined the story. While being unaware he is in a novel originally until he meets them and learns of the story secondhand through others. Seeing them as a little crazy.
The story’s themes is mostly about legacy and living one’s life to the fullest.
I’ll share the draft in the morning. Hopefully I can bring out the story I’m imagining fluently. Having people like it would be nice but I want to be able to be proud of what was written as a writer.
