Father with Daughter-Complex trope

I've read a lot of novels, manga, manhwa with this trope. At first I didn't have any problem with it, but once it shows up for the hundredth time, it starts to become annoying.

The father is like a ticking time bomb. So obsessed with his daughter he'll hold deep malice for even dares to look at her.

One example that comes to mind is Let's Play, having the father stalk his daughter in the name of protection.

Kinda like that annoying trope of a friend/set of friends of the MMC always spouting that the FMC is a 'goddess' on earth and would do stupid things if the couple progressed in their relationship. .

interesting. yeah, i hate them as well. I try to break the tropes. Honestly im sick of isekai where the mc family is trash for the sake of being trash. I tried to tackle the situation by making the mc somewhat different. Not everyone should hate him in the family bruh

Depends on how the trope is utilized. What you're describing is way too common and an altogether unhealthy relationship to boot.
