I have not heard of it, but as long as it's not an exclusive contact, I say go for it!

See who they are affiliated with. If it's a company from Portugal, I wouldnt do it. Dreame, Swordstory and StaryWriting are all from that place and each of them are scams that just make you go through hoops to receive any money.

Also ask how you would even be receiving payment, for example.

Becaue when I was a final step away from signing a contract with StaryWriting they said "oh yeah you gotta get approved for your payment. Once you get approved, you need to click on the "withdraw" button there and get wait to get approved for a withdrawal. Then the money will be sent to your StaryWriting account and you can request for another withdrawal to send it to your bank. It may take a few days to show up tho. Teehee"

I think I added a step but basically it was that bullshit so it all sounded very sus and bullshit. Even Webnovel uses Paypal.

Ahem. Anyway just watch out.

Same...But I took an extra mile, and check if it is a legitimate writing platform. And it sure looks like one, I even found the person that contact me on their Facebook page... Unless they're just that good in scamming people. But I hope not, since the person who contact me seem pretty nice. (I did not get contact on Scribblehub, but Webnovel.)

I also tested their platform, and enter one of their contest. But just for precaution, I also wrote a new story along with my main (I only publish half of what I got). The new story I wrote it in a new account without contract, while my main does. Two weeks, zero read on both.... I don't think my writing is that bad, but seriously it should have like at least one view, which I wouldn't mind. So I gave another two more week, still the same result. I figure it's either a newly built website that isn't well-know yet, or it's really a scam. I was not happy that I wasted my time, but on the other hand, I was able to came up with a new story.

All in all, just make sure that whatever contract they give, falls within your zone of comfort. But in this case, like the person above said, a non-exclusive contract will probably give you more leeway than an exclusive one.

I just realized I cannot edit a novel after created it on their platform. I need an editor's approval to edit my own work? Might not be such a good platform.

I tried to edit my story too, couldn't do it (probably because I enter a contest, not sure). But apparently everything seem to centralize around the editors, while all the author need to do is continue to update.......I can't even delete nor edit my story chapters! My advice, stop immediately! Forget what I said about getting that non-exclusive contract, unless you really want to try it out. And if you do, I hope our editor reply to you whenever you need him/her.

Yeah I'm backing away from it. It sucks I can't take the book down, but what I posted was already on scribblehub.

I see so many weird answers that I don't even know from where to start!
Popink, like many other reading apps that appeared during these last two years, are from Asia. Singapura and China most of them.
For a story to appear in most of those reading apps, you need to sign an exclusive or non-exclusive contract. No legit reading app puts a story on their apps without having the written consent from the authors.
The last update of the Popink app, lets you edit the chapters. For anything you need in reading apps, you have an Editor that you can contact by email. Some editors take longer than others to answer you, because of their workload.
Just to clear all doubts:
I am from Portugal, and there are no reading apps based here. I wish we had at least one.
I also have several of my stories in reading apps (popink, goodnovel, Ringdom, Dreame, novelstar), and I am gaining a pretty good amount every month.
Please refrain from spreading weird rumors if you don't know what you are talking about. It can hurt businesses and give you a few problems, because slandering a company without proofs and causing losses, is a very serious thing.

Well see now I KNOW I can't trust you
And may I ask why? You have some sort of problem with my country? Because last time I checked, my ancestors circumnavigated the globe. What did yours do?
You wrote that those reading apps are based in Portugal, and none of them are. There are no reading apps based in Portugal. I wish we had one, because I would apply to have my stories there, instead of using Asian reading apps.
The reading apps you mentioned and a few others are either based in Singapure or Hong Kong. Get your facts straight, before writing weird things. A quick visit to Ringdom or Dreame website, and you will find that those apps, together with Ficfun, belong to Stary, a company based in Singapore. Singapore is in Asia. Portugal is in Europe. Just in case your Geography is as bad as your History.

Now you lost me. My country is a troll bait or the reading app? Because none are.
My country is actually one of the oldest in Europe, and reading apps have been a major thing since two years ago, when COVID spread.
A lot of people at home, software creators saw a market and created a bunch of reading apps, and many are being created per week. It is an industry that deals with a lot of money, and gets money from ads, or from the readers.
Reading apps often have contests with big prize money, and a writer can earn a pretty good amount per month. In Asian countries or African countries, a writer can earn a salary in reading apps. I know this, because I know several writers in those continents that are the only ones gaining money, and feeding their families with their writing.
300usd might not be much to some people, but for someone that lives in Bangladesh,Nepal, Philippines, or Nigeria, its a fortune.
Like any other business out there, you need to be careful with which reading app you choose. Some are good to gain readers and spread your name, others are good for a fast amount of bucks. Depends of what you want.
There are one or two that I won't advice anyone to join, because of low royalties pay.

Sorry, I don't get it.
I started to put my stories online in this website, like I did in royalroad, webnovel, inkitt and wattpad. From here, I signed one story with the reading app Ringdom, and now I have 3 exclusive stories there that after 2 years, still brings me money. Last week I got 354usd from my audiobook that Ringdom made from my first story.
Since the beginning of this year, I signed 2 non-exclusive stories with other reading apps that are also earning me money. I am now writing one free story in scribblehub and other websites, and I have 2 other stories waiting to be written, for those reading apps.
Popink is one of the reading apps that I signed with and my editor offered me a job last month to work as her Assistant, to find new writers. So far, I didn't contacted anyone in scribblehub . Maybe one day I will.
So, am I a troll bait? Why? Because I saw this mess of answers about reading apps that I am very familiar with and I thought of putting some light over the subject and clarify it?

Ninja's second post is a bait.

I do not mean to disregard your indignation, but writing essays they'll likely never read is just wasting your own time

I don't consider writing as a waste of my time, actually, be it here, or in my story, but thank you for your explanation.
Besides, with my posts, every time someone searches for those reading apps names, my answers will be here, to clarify any doubts.

Mfs made Brazil, of course you can't trust them.
There are no reading apps based in Portugal. I wish we had one, because I would apply to have my stories there, instead of using Asian reading apps. As for History of Brasil and Portugal, there is too many things about it, so I advice you to read about that subject, and read a lot, because your answer sounds xenophobic against both countries and their people, and last time I checked, that is against the rules.

I think you're misunderstanding that this is a joke meant to not be taken seriously at all. You can read quite a lot about the "Brazil" joke online if you're curious.
