I’ve recently realised that once this plan is done, I won’t have any excuses NOT to write my trilogy anymore (with the sequel being The One Being Protected [Magical Girl Urban Fantasy] and the one after that being a high fantasy I still have a lot of love for).
As for why I’m writing this blog it’s because I wanted to express what I got so far in my progress for this draft. In one of my posts before I mentioned that I was killing the darling and changing it from a five-man band to less people.
Right now my main characters are Lyla Walker, Fritz Lazrik, and Jordan Fisher. Just as I had decided on that, I realised that this is usually the typical formula for a RoFan (Romance Fantasy). I got a fiery male lead and another calculative male lead to do shipping drama with the MC.
Yes, the main character is the girl.
Why? Idk, but I’m rolling with it.
The composition of their relationship is that Lyla is a World Traveller, Jordan is an author Novel Extra who remembers writing about this world and characters, while Fritz is a character becoming aware that his tragedy is Jordan’s fault. All of them having different views on each other.
I’d like to make this a love triangle for the views but I’m not passionate to understand that sort of passion towards another person. Especially when an entire life is being sucked away into getting a singular person’s limited attention.
Anyway, regardless of future relationships, will make them start off as strangers to friends before adding any of that squabble.
The current idea on story and arcs come from a GoogleDoc I had lying around but will need some editing. The short version is that the main character (Lyla) will be sent to save a dying world from disaster. A total of 13 heroes were chosen from other worlds to do so and she was 13th.
This is unknown to the residents of the world but they know about the disaster that’ll destroy them and have employed someone to take on a sort of pilgrimage to counter it. This person is called a Summoner and is the hero created by humanity.
Regular magical people are called Blacksmiths and they use relationships to boost their power.
Normally a duo of Sword and Blacksmith is seen in the setting, but the main character is the only Sword that can have multiple Blacksmiths (the dudes). They complement each other and share their power through her.
Blacksmiths and Swords isn’t gender specific and there are a variety of types.
I’ll make a more in-depth post tomorrow but my break at work is ending and I gotta go.
