I have no idea how well this will be received, but I am starting to believe the site requires email authentication during account creation.
Now Tony as the site owner and admin has done a wonderful job creating an amazing and inclusive story site, that I feel privileged sharing my stories on. I am really thankful to my friend MrSimple (Rest in peace friend) who introduced me and mine to this place. Tony and his mod crew have been extremely responsive to feedback and helping users and authors who have been harassed. The block and report tools are useful, not to mention the ability for authors to delete disruptive comments on their stories.
That said there is a minor issue of stalking and harassment of some authors (not me). Recently there has been an author who has been targeted by a user for harassment and has in response to blocks created multiple accounts to circumvent those blocks to continue the harassment, even bragging that blocking wont stop it because of the lack of email authentication. Tony amazingly banned all 3 of the user's accounts and IP banned them. That said the user has abandoned their previous naming convention and is now making themself known to the author they are stalking to prove a point.
Honestly I am aware email authentication will not stop the most persistent of stalkers and harassers, but it will make it slightly more difficult and tedious. And maybe requiring email authentication to comment, rate, review and post in the forums may help will other issues including people using throwaways for harassment, rating bombing/manipulation etc.
