So... I've been trying to do more research for my 2 stories up here. And part of that is to implement and use more fantasy race options.

But I keep hitting a mind block on dwarf and gnome girls.

I'm worried about if using them would look or feel too much like pedo material? I've avoided this because of that. And I'm not actually sure if I want to use those 2 races yet. Not sure if they are that well liked either... But I noticed many stories are using gnome or dwarf girls now. And they are doing other stuff now too that previously hadn't really been used much. Like I never thought I'd see the day people would be reading about harems of goblin girls. That's being done too not just the gnome girls. So it seems more important than ever to do good research on this in order to be safe.

But I don't understand how do you NOT get in trouble using dwarf or gnome girls? It seems like its too close to them looking the size of a child. I'm worried about this but there's many harem stories that have gnomes in them now. How do they not end up with legal issues?

Here's a couple examples;

Here, there be Dorfs! (Montgomery Quinn, Queen Stiletto)(Dwarf girl harem)

Dungeons, Delves, & Desires (Ecco Castle)(Gnome girl)

Goblin Girls Do it Better (Misty Vixen)(Goblin Harem)

Backyard Goblins (Virgil Knightily)(Goblin Harem)

Exactly. This keeps them from being too "child-like."
Or you could go with one definition of dwarves, that there ARE no females.
(On my world, dwarves grow beards at puberty, regardless of gender. Pregnant female dwarves, however, shed ALL hair, only growing it back - usually thicker - after the child is born; very few outsiders encounter pregnant female dwarves so most assume they just don't exist...)

Dwarves tend to be portrayed not too short by human standard. Let's say around 140-155cm. There are many adults within this range IRL, you see, so don't worry about it.

I'd say it's the face, mostly. Older folks have narrower eyes, broader nose, defined jawline, and even wrinkles. If all else fails, try voices. You don't encounter kids with baritone or velvety voices often.

Halflings and gnomes are slightly trickier, but as long as you make their faces and voices adult-like enough, you should be fine.

That's one reason that most of the sexy depictions of these races make them shortstacks with big round boobs and butts. Clarifying that one would never mistake them for a child.
Bruv, the Japanese invented Oppai Loli.

Yes, underaged very stacked shortstack to entice the pedos who also happens to like mature bits.

I mean, the big problem is really in a manga or comic type of situation when there's art involved. Since this is a story, as long as you describe them as tiny adults, it should be fine. I mean, gnomes are... what, a foot tall or so? Just describe her like a foot tall version of an adult person, and you shouldn't have a problem. And I think everyone else covered why dwarves should also be fine.

If you want to, you can even use some cultural thing to signify they’re adults. Like growing out hair a certain length. Some cultures in real life use tattoos and other markings to show they reached adulthood and even if they're married or not. Then just have it so kids of the race don't have these yet.

Or you could also show them as parents too. Or at the very least, have the kids look and act like kids. Then people know there's an obvious difference between a child and adult and you get to do a little world building in the process.

This is the first time I’ve ever heard that term and it repels me
I'm not sure if that example is good or bad. But in that one anime where the demonlord comes to this world to work at McRags, the coworker there is fitting that category.
