If you do write multiple stories at the same time, do you think it's easier, or harder to write multiple, in comparison to writing one?

I am currently writing 2 stories right now. I was only writing one for a while there till I got writers block and wasn't motivated to continue. Then I had another idea for a story that seemed more interesting at the time. I the began writing it and after a bit I my writers block for the other story went away.
I think as writers we just have to many Ideas and its hard to focus on just one. So another outlet for your creative energy helps unclog your brain for the other project.

Well, I have 4 series. But only 1 series is actively updated.

From the beginning, I was too ambitious to write a lot of fiction. The harsh reality... limited energy, limited time, limited resources... limited creativity... everything is limited.

We live in 2 worlds: fiction and the 'complicated' real world.

Finally, I postponed the other 3 series and focused on a main series. At least I have to finish volume 2 first before touching the other 3 series again.

Critical Note:
I am not dropping or throwing away the other 3 fictions. I am just postponing them (hiatus).

In general... the other 3 series will be connected to the main series in the future based on the main story timeline.

Nope, writing one is easier because I can remember the story and the characters clearly, which helps me avoid inconsistency and stupid plot holes. I also have two more unpublished works. One is set in the same universe and is currently at eleven chapters. The other is unrelated and stuck at chapter three. I will choose one of those two to work on when this one ends.

Dunno others, but I have 4 stories running and 1 rewrite. It helps me a lot, because it helps me not get into overthinking plot ideas and keep my focus fresh by switching between the different stories, and keep my focus on the now.

Harder.

When I started, I was juggling 6 stories and found it was harder to keep track and focus. I would get more invested in one over the other, and fans of one story would be waiting a while before I circled back to add another chapter.

I do, but not the same way some people do. I start a story, get to a good stopping point where I know I need to work on something, work on another story that focuses on the thing I need to work on(descriptions, dialogue, worldbuilding, etc.), then I return to writing the first story, maybe edit the first story some before I get to deep into a writing binge.

I write multiple stories. 1 Primary and the others are secondaries. So, if I get writer's block or want to take a break, I work on the secondary ones to clear my mind. So, it depends on the writer.

I have one primary story, that is my main long running series that I already know what ending I'm aiming for. But during the editing processes I got stuck in a rut because so many rewrites were getting tiring.

Then I end up picking some other ideas for a story with lesser stakes that could help me to just get in the mood of writing which help me nudge thinks and as it was working there was a Writhaton event when I figured I could actually try writing a story without overthinking the consequences, the thing is that after the first act, I started caring more about the story developed a world and it wasn't as easy to follow.

And at that point I was getting writing momentum again specially for the main story so I decided to focus on finishing volume 2 since I'm so close.

But the other 2 stories are definitely to keep on going eventually as one is a very relaxing feel good trip just to appreciate my character while the other one is a Dark Souls level Isekai with a tragic journey where I certainly wish to finish in a satisfactory way. I just need to fully decide the rhythm curve it'll have.

I have three, but I only publish Amaranthine currently. The others serve as the Balm in Gilead for when I have writers block for the romance or action aspects of Amaranthine respectively.

I have two stories I dedicate an equal amount of time to.

My big problem:

Only 40% of my audience likes to read both of them. The other 60% reads only one of them, thus I risk disappointing 60% of my readers with slower releases.

The reason why I'm writing on two stories at the same time is that it gets frustrating to only work on one.
Writing on two gives me fresh inspiration and prevents burnout. I had so much fun writing the first 20 chapters after writing like 300 chapters of the same story. However, constantly starting new stories risks becoming an author who abandons his earlier works. So I only recommend creating a single side story if you are trying to stay on schedule for your main one.

On the other hand, the stress and my obsession with not disappointing readers cause me to try to balance releases every single day.

Been there, done that, failed spectacularily.

Now I finish them one at a piece. I managed one, I have 3 to go and learned my lesson I should stick to one story.

Writing and posting multiple stories are two very different matters.
Writing multiple stories is pretty easy for me. Bit posting? Nuh-uh, I ain't keeping up even with one.

I'm currently posting three different stories. It's so tiresome. But I'm committed to finishing because I'm dumb.

6 7 lol

3 here. 3 offline. 1 in editing.
no, it's not (personally) hard to balance characters, plots, continuity, or what's happening.
The only thing is time restraint of 24 hours in a day.

Online: Writing, and updating: My Little Sister or Ise-se-Kai take no time at all seeing as they're my own creations, but Archivist Maid takes longer to write because it's a fanfic, with real people/ characters that should be respected, and shouldn't go against any of their personal beliefs/ ideals/ morals.

Offline: Work is work; Schedules, deadlines, and priorities. Needing more attention, and requiring attention to detail. Otherwise the same as online. My creations take less time to write, other's take more time to process, and edit.

Comparing it to writing only one story, there is no difference -other than the number of uploads per week. When I was focused on 1 story offline and 1 story online, My little sister, I was able to upload maybe 3-4 times a week for it, now it's more like once or twice per week for each story.
(3 or 4 chapters divided by 3 stories rather than the one story getting the entire 3 to 4 chapters for itself.)
If you look at my uploads my last 3 chapters were on Jan4, jan5, jan6. and my last chapter for the week is coming up maybe today or tomorrow.
