Like does it matter to have good grades, not just passing. Say you get a bach but you just barely passed, do you think that affects anything else in your life.

Exactly this,
I'm preparing for an exam in the hopes of getting a better job and the selection process is based on our grades, that's how stupid the world works,
idk if it's different in the US
:blob_evil_two: I think the US are even more stupid~. They have this strange thing called college, after all. And tuition fees that catapult you into poverty, which in turn necessitates you getting a scholarship, which in turn requires you having good grades. It is a vicious circle~

It's my opinion that grades matter in college, because if you have good grades, then it means your a good student, and the good grades will help you get recommendations and better job offers in the world, or so I've been told. I'm only a sophomore in hs.

I wouldn't know, I never went. Instead, I focused on getting into shape, learning how to fight, and learning good social skills.

Those skills open up way more doors than college ever will. And they're more useful too.

The true purpose of going to college is for the community that practices that profession to recognize you as one of their own. Once you graduate, that's when you truly learn how to work in what you studied.

It depends on what you want to do. Generally speaking, though, connections will get you farther than grades.

Depends on if you want to apply for post-graduate degrees/programs or not.

If you're working out of college, then no, it does not matter as much. Your internships / work experiences matter more.

I took some courses this year, and I am done. I think it will depend on the person and degree, but my personal opinion is that college/Uni is almost useless, at least in the United States where I live.

Short answer as someone who has gone to college 4 times, no, grades don't really matter.

Long answer is like this. Any future employer is not really going to care whether you made a 60 or an 80, so long as you have a passing mark and complete your course. They will care about your attendance and ability to do your job. While your marks will help them gauge things like your knowledge level and work ethic (if you're handing coursework in, you will be making well above a passing mark). Sure, a high mark can be impressive but not everyone does well on tests which generally make up a lot of a final mark.

Mind you, if you're failing hardcore and just can't seem to understand the work, you might need to think of a course change...

GPA doesn’t really matter after you get your first job post college. After that don’t even bother putting it on your resume no one will care, even if you graduated from an ivy league school.

Still if you are still in school it’s good to get good grades if you are looking into different scholarship opportunities. Also if you are writing a capstone paper or something like that might be passed onto employers it is important to get a good grade.

It only matters for GPA, really. The vast majority of employers won't look at anything beyond that in terms of grades.

For anyone pursuing a higher degree, though, yes, it does matter, because universities will absolutely look at your transcript when applying, sometimes even all the way back to high school.
