I feel ya. I mean, my parents understand English, but I definitely sympathize with the “They already think I’m crazy). They always feel worryingly close to sticking me in an asylum (or at the very least, therapy an excessive amount of times a week).

Sorry to hear that. Yeah, they hear me talk to myself and rehearse the lines from my book out loud (in English mind you, I live in a Spanish-speaking country) and think I'm crazy. They used to yell at me and ask me to stop, but they gave up long ago but that won't stop me.

Husband reads it before I post. Boyfriend reads it after I post. My mom knows my pen name, but she doesn't have time to read my fanfiction. She's still working her way through the books I've edited.

However, I haven't updated since my kid was born two and a half years ago.

I actually used to. Unfortunately I would write the kind of stuff they weren’t terribly interested in except every so often I wrote something kind of sweet and emotional and that they enjoyed.

If they understood the stuff I wrote they would be very upset. Luckily my mother doesn't understand English.
But the ones in my family who do know how to read english...
Apart from my sister its a no go for everyone else. Its only me as her beta reader and she as mines. Though she doesn't like what i write.

Yep. They know what I write. They know I write cuss words in my work. They know I write harem isekai stuff.

Also, my brother is one of my beta readers. And my mom's the quality control of my illustrations, even though some are NSFW.
