Yes, recovery is very important after exertion. I don't know about all of the oscillation stuff, but it is logical to include recovery as part of your schedule. Even other animals will recover after a hunt, like the lion example given.

Give yourself some ample time for some relaxation and masturbation recovery.

manga Eyeshield 21 / sports logic

Growing muscles is from the destruction and regen of the tissues after training
That is why it hurts after you are done

That is why over training is pointless if you dont rest

Brain is also a muscle. That is why not using it for a long time, is bad.

Oh god why I clicked on your signature.

So basically, what the video is talking is about recovery.

I like how the guy quoted athletes and top business men as his examples to have recovery time like 3-4 weeks of paid leaves, because my BS job only grant me 14 days annually and for fucks sake only can be used up at short bursts (max three days continuous) and nothing more.

What I am saying is, plebs and serfs don't get to rest, we are either busy at work or busy at house work.

I have a few complaints. There's some useful information here, and it overshadows the problems... But then those problems are accepted as fact. It's very difficult to trust anything these snake oil dealers self help gurus tell you. The fact that he actually explained instead of directing the viewer to go buy some product is a huge plus in his favor though~.

Now the first problem: The brain and the nervous system are NOT MUSCLES. They do not get stronger when they regenerate from damage. They don't regenerate AT ALL. If your brain tissue dies, it stays that way for the rest of your life, barring unusual circumstances. The brain can make new connections and workarounds to 'recover', but that's not the same as muscle growth or even the healing of a bone. It's more like retiling your floors... It functions the same, but it's not the same.

Uh. If I had another problem, I forgot it and I'm not patient enough to watch the video again.

I do think it's worth agreeing that relaxation =/= recovery. Playing games, reading, and whatever stimulates the brain. So if you're reading to recover from work, you're going to end up exhausting yourself further.

Now if only I could stop my brain from overanalyzing literally everything for a few minutes, my headaches might go away...:blobrofl:

Equating the brain to a muscle and assuming it works similar to it does make sense. Logic is often similar in different scenarios so even if the brain isn't actually a muscle, that doesn't mean it cannot work like one.

However, just because the brain might work like a muscle doesn't mean it does. In this video he suggests the brain works like a muscle, which is fine, but he doesn't actually state anything to back that suggestion up, which is a problem.

It's definitely worth thinking about, but if I look at myself, my problem is that I just have to stop procrastinating.
