Do authors still do review swaps

I used to write on SH, WN, etc like maybe 5 years ago and new authors would do a lot of review swaps with each other to at least have a rating on their book. Do they still do that or nah?

Not so much on SH anymore, at least, not that I've seen recently, but RR does it often.

Review swaps are indigenous RR behavior. Don't do that. Reviews don't increase your rank or visibility here.

The last time I reviewed a swap, the author I reviewed didn't provide a review back. Since then, I've been distrustful of swap reviews.

Review swap or feedback swap? Review swap feels disingenuous if you’re strangers and barely read each other’s work. Feedback swap is better (in my opinion) since you’re just giving your opinions, probably based on first impressions, with not much bias and can help each other improve.

That being said, I have done a feedback swap before and never got a feedback in return ?

Eyeball swap is better since you can see the flaws in your work you missed before.

My sole feedback swap here linked two authors with vastly different ideas of "smut" who quickly and painfully discovered that we did not like each other's work, approach, characters, or worldbuilding. We politely agreed that we could not provide useful feedback to each other.

I'd be down to give the concept another shot though.

I did a review swap that had so much purple prose in it, it burnt me out. Like back to back bricks of paragraphs. I was falling asleep with my phone in my hand just trying to power through. Not looking forward to them anymore …

5 Chapters. Felt like I read 20. I remember scrolling through Chapter 1 and just seeing text no spaces. I swallowed hard. I don’t even remember what the story is about. Lord knows what I put in the review. It’s all a blur
