Puchin got too high on expired udssr red bull and now goes hitler on everyone. Only logical explanation.

Outside of the boring "power corrupts one".

On a more historical note: It's kinda funny to see russia blitzkrieg-ing a country only to get hit by scorched earth guerilla fighting. Don't they have history lessons or do they really think their patented way of fighting won't work against them?

Already forseen this happening years ago when Murica attacked Libya, Syria... and supported revolutions in various other countries without any public opposition except Russia.

If Murica can do it legitly, Russia can also do it legitly (which they just did). And if these two big bosses can do it legitly then China, the last big boss, can do it legitly too. May God have mercy on south-east Asian countries.

What I've been told (from somebody in the service) is that Russia used outdated equipment and conscripts. None of the modern or elite have been deployed. And that they only sent out a logistical 2-4 days worth of supplies (it's been a week). This invasion, regardless of the justification or damning, makes little sense... Unless Russia is ridding themselves of excess?

Yes, just yesterday we had two nukes in the neighborhood. Two!
Good thing I have a modest supply of bottle caps for the future.
I'm torn between hitting the "laughing" and "wowing" reaction.

If it does get reported, I don't believe anything will happen just yet (until it gets heated).

I heard similar things but I'm leaning more toward it just being propaganda. This invasion makes perfect sense, though, considering the situation with nato. It's also been brewing for months and basically every government knew about it. I doubt Putin is doing this halfheartedly. It's not exactly his first time. He did the same thing a couple of years ago in Georgia. I doubt this will escalate to a worldwide war.

Not really, just being a cynic in general.

Fact is, tho, that Russia didn't really do much to appeal to the nations it claims are rightfully part of Russia.

That'd be like Germany claiming most of Europe are rightfully theirs since they were part of the german empire in the middle ages. And we all know how well that went last WW...

Going full angery yandere only works in smutty novels, so it's no wonder that people want to join the Nato and their power of friendship gick.

This is a pretty fundamental misunderstanding of the situation. Russia is probably using old equipment and conscripts to probe the Ukrainian defenses before bringing in their real military or simply to avoid showing off what they are capable of. If you use a similar invasion as a benchmark, the US invasion of Iraq, Russia is actually advancing extremely quickly and with far less casualties.

Here is the thing though, Ukraine was part of Russia for hundreds of years, and only got their 'freedom' because of a quirk in how the Soviet Union was administered, and the subsequent fall of the USSR. Russia has a legitimate claim to the land, and there are a huge amount of people in Ukraine that still consider themselves part of Russia. You don't get the other side of the story if you only listen to western war propaganda.

It's hilarious to see this discussion as a Russian and see how people have zero understanding of what is happening inside Russia.
I heard that russians are being fed false info and most don't fully understand what's going on. also that facebook and twitter are banned rn. can't access them without a vpn

The only thing going on in Russia is a bunch of squatting and drinking vodka.

Russia don't mess around. You could clearly see how swiftly they did things in the war against ISIS and other terrorist organizations in the Middle-East. The US dragged the war out for months to try and benefit from it, but Russia straight up bombed those guys back to stone age.

Nah its been pretty well documented most of the false stuff, deep fakes, altered photos, fake stores (ghost of Kyiv) are all coming from the Ukrainian side, hence why Russia banned the social media which peddled it.
