I saw a bunch of updates in the first page. All only few minutes apart. If novels are approved in batches, then it makes sense that the latest updates and newest novels change so fast.

It’s better to attract few genuine readers who dig into the story rather than passerby group who only adds to views. At least the potential of meeting trolls is lower.

Not all isekais are reincarnations. Some are soul transportations through summons or things like that.

"Yuri" is the term if you are looking for translated comics. In this site it's GL (girls love).

why the code words.

Sites use "code words" because they are widely recognized search tags that help users quickly find specific types of content. Imagine if every English speaker used one word, every Spanish speaker used another word, every Mandarin speaker used a third word, every Russian used a fourth word, etc. These words drive traffic, which you found out since you wrote, "I'm sitting there, moaning I don't have 'cool tags' to get reads," and they allow fine-grained categorization. I can easily avoid stories with tags I dislike (in my case fanfiction, cultivation, wuxia, xinxia, xuanhuan, etc.) assuming they are tagged properly. Since you weren't using the GL/yuri tag, I can imagine that whenever a reader who doesn't like that made the mistake of reading your novel, they ended up disappointed, and you'd end up with a low rating for not tagging properly.

Maybe we should take this thread as akin to the challenge editor Joseph Campbell issued three of his writers - blanking on the third, but believe the first two were Isaac Asimov and Randall Garret. The challenge? Write a short story where the title was a single word and a punctuation mark (the word he picked - they all used the same one - was "blank" - one got Blank?, one got Blank! and the other Blank. as their assigned titles.)

IIRC "Isekai" means "different world" - technically, any Portal Fantasy could, with or without character deaths, be "isekai" - so on a technicality, HBO Max's Suicide Squad: Isekai is correct, even if it flies against common usage.

There is an overlap between isekai and transmigration, but they are not the same.

Isekai literally means another world. As long as the character gets moved to another world, it technically falls under isekai, though most common is reincarnation or summoning, and the characters might keep their body.
Transmigration is the soul moving to another body. It can be moving to a different world, in which case it would be transmigration isekai, or it can stay in the same one, but the characters never keep their old body. Unlike reincarnation, transmigration also means the soul gets implanted into the body of an adult or child without being actually born in that body.
