When people lose their sense of individuality, they lose sight of their own potential as human beings. They lose sight of their passions and miss out on their life's genuine calling. What is afflicting our society now is the amputation of individuals and the slicing of dreams.

At some point in our lives, we as individuals lost sight of what we are capable of accomplishing. The powers that be have made it a point to break people down and force us all to conform to a certain way of life.

We've all been forced into a corner where they don't want us. And it's a heavily censored and chained-up prison. Sure, we think we're free, yet they have us completely under their control. They censor everything, even the media and anyone who see through the ruse.

Do people, on the other hand, genuinely want to know the truth? What really governs people's actions?

I think you're putting too much faith in individuality since we live in a society.

And we're all shaped by our community in one way or another.

Individuality is over rated, only hyped up by a every onrushing wave of trashy YA novels and Disney Channel original movies. Sure sure individuality is cool, but have you ever been a part of a clique? Everyone has individuality unless we develop in to some Isaac Assimov space magic Newtype Zeon hive mind that’s not gonna change. So there is nothing wrong by being defined by the people/culture/ideas your surround yourself with.

'The truth' as in what is the individual and what part was merely adapted to better fit in? Or what actual truth we have herded away from? I'm not sure what you mean, but I guess both have the same answer.

The truth is that of the individual; if someone believes something then that is true unless they stop believing it is. What governs someone's actions isn't really questioned until the context/reason can shake their perceived truth of something and they realize that possibility.

If someone is shaky on their morals and the future of humanity as a whole, they might be quicker in asking questions about the big things. If they don't care, or hold a deep-rooted belief in those things, they most likely won't ask anything. Whether that steers them away from their life calling is entirely up to them. If they believe it does then it does.

And losing one's individuality doesn't really happen, it changes. You can't not be who you are, you can act in not your own way but that does not make you any less. It does not make necessarily you lose sight of your passions either. To be part of a group, or 'normal' society doesn't make a individual less individual, it changes their identity. They are not just any person they are member of ..... to the eyes of a random stranger. But more often than not it gives those people a life purpose, whether that's their purpose or that of the group is up to them. If they believe it is, it is. (Just look at faith.)

We are social animals after all, and we are nothing but animals without our social structures. And quite helpless when without the support of a group/groups belief.

The whole freedom thing is a little... eh. You're always free, just like the person next to you. You are free to insult their mother, they are free to stab you for it, and society is free to decide that a murderer is a safety hazard. Freedome is not just yours, it is to be shared equally and sadly a finite commodity. (And not equally shared)

Surprise, surprise. Doodle god universe just unlocked "Society."

Trauma. Fear. Greed. Jealousy. Never satisfied.
Society.

Also the rare and quick moments of happiness, kindness, and what other fluff stuff.
