Death Isekai - Ideas on how to kill the MC?

So, I'm dabbling with another idea. One that's been done many times, but I wanna take a crack at it - a death isekai. that is, MC dies, reincarnates in another world. but, moving on.

I want to start it off a little funnier than normal. So, here's my question: Does anyone have any ideas on funny, silly, or interesting ways to kill the MC in this world? Things like By the Grace of the gods, where the MC sneezed himself to death (sneezed so hard he hit his head and died in his sleep of a brain injury). There's another that I forgot the name of, but basically God drops a flowerpot on the MC, which results in MC dying.

I'm looking for something like that. funny, silly, unlikely, whatever.

And yes, I know it's been overdone. But I'm fairly new to writing isekai (only 1 so far), so I wanna play around with it a bit. It's a toy I'm not used to, and I think it looks a bit fun.

Depends on the type of comedy that will persist throughout the series. If MC is a thoughtful individual it would be funny to have him die mid internal monologue. In other cases, it's funny to have the mc die to things that shouldn't happen or even cause death if they were to happen but are technically possible like getting run over by a penny-farthing.

Before he reincarnates, he's about to get summoned to another fantasy world the classical way, with a magic circle appearing below him. However, the summoning fails, and when he appears in the other world, only half of him is summoned, his torso, so he dies instantly, reincarnating in that same fantasy world years later as a baby.

Depends on the type of comedy that will persist throughout the series. If MC is a thoughtful individual it would be funny to have him die mid internal monologue. In other cases, it's funny to have the mc die to things that shouldn't happen or even cause death if they were to happen but are technically possible like getting run over by a penny-farthing.

Well, it's mostly gonna be situational comedy. Nothing too out-there or extravagant. Dude gets reincarnated as a farmer. At first, he's like "Ah, this is nice. Cool, calm life, just me and my plants. I love it."

But then adventurers start showing up to take his things - like collecting cheesewheels in skyrim, early fallout where you collect everything you can to sell to buy that one better gun, Final Fantasy when you walk into a random house and take the potion in the treasure chest that the poor foo- uh, 'farmer' saved three years to buy.

But things happen, he builds up his defenses, and eventually, he's considered a demon lord, simply because he was tired of adventurers taking his things. He's build an entire dungeon based around keeping his things HIS things. and in doing so, became the boogeyman mothers tell their children about at night. "Behave or the farmer-man will get you."

So, fun fact, there have been IRL cases of people sneezing so hard that they died. You see, sneezing is the most violent thing the human body can do, as it contracts all the muscles in the body. And can potentially break ribs and cause hearts attacks.

And now, I believe I have made at least one person scared of sneezing.

I'm aware. But the presentation made it funny. The guy went out of his way to be in excellent physical status. Then, while working for a black company in japan, he got drunk after work, went home and fell asleep. He sneezed repeatedly, which moved his pillow. then one final sneeze slammed his head against the floor, killing him.

@John_Owl based on your synopsis, I think it would be great if MC dies because some unrelated greedy behavior. Like doing groceries and dying because of black Friday stampede or something

Two ideas for future stories of mine, but feel free to steal them

1. Death by accident. Imagine the person in Pulp fiction who gets their head blown off in the car? Totally unintentional. Gets isekai'd because of bad luck or karma or whatever.

2. Death by distraction. Someone does something important and dangerous. I don't know, like summoning a hero from another world. But they get the chant wrong, or did a mistake in the ritual circle. Instead of bringing someone from another world, they get picked and Isekai'd to another one than their own instead.

Case 2 is fun because it could give the summoner an eye-opening experience of what they have kept inflicting on others.
Case 1 is fun because it can turn rotten luck into a second chance, if you go the cozy route. Or if you love torturing your MC, you can just keep running with the idea of a MC with abysmal luck score.

Mc is told by someone that drinking too much water can actually kill you. He doesn’t believe them and goes to show them why they’re wrong by drinking several gallons of water. He drinks a bunch of water, is forcibly made to vomit, but despite that refuses to give up because he made a bet and doesn’t want to lose. Because of this he keeps drinking after vomiting and eventually his cells absorb too much water destroying the cell membranes across his body and poisoning him to death

Death by Truck-kun is classic...but what if he survived, got into the ambulance, but they forgot to strap him down and said the ambulance crashed, and he got flung out the back, and through a window, and died?

Or have the situation a friend got into during his paramedic training go south - the ambulance he was doing a "ride along" in gets called to a multi-vehicle accident. Three victims, one refuses an ambulance, one seems fine, other is unconscious so they take that one to the hospital.
As they pass through an intersection, a speeding car runs a red light, takes out their driver's side headlight and skids along the front of the car, loses control and slams into something - I don't remember if it was a pole or a building; driver totals his car but is somehow unhurt. Ambulance spins around twice, stops, one of the paramedics gets out to see if the driver needs help and to exchange insurance information, my friend wound up taking over the care of the patient until they got to the hospital.
Could have easily been four casualties in that second incident (or three in the first one).
Though the driver who hit the ambulance probably WISHED they'd been isekaid - the person was a lawyer who ran the red light because they were late for court... but the person the ambulance was transporting was ALSO a lawyer, from a family of lawyers, many of whom had worked with the hospital and ambulance company before....

there was another commenter here that had a similar idea. The summoning messed up or something somehow and winds up cutting the guy in half. It's one I might borrow, but i'm not certain yet.

hmmm... He's on his way to work, complaining about the monotony of his office job. He hears a plane and stops to look for it. Hears a whistling, then, boom.

I could use that as a mass exodus to another world - others become teachers, nobles, blacksmiths, adventurers. But He, the MC, becomes a farmer. hmm.... interesting idea.

Nothing beats the death of Kazuma in KonoSuba in terms of hilarity IMO.

However, if you want my opinion, the funniest way someone can die (no offense to anyone who died this way) is freezing to death after taking a nap in the frozen food section in a Costco.

I am working on story where the isekai guy is literally death, and he keeps getting sent 'on vacation' to a mortal body, and. of course, he can't die permanently.
