So... for those of you with limited data plans that read while traveling, does reading chapters from ScribbleHub and sites like it use very much data? Does this put limited cheap data plans at risk of overcharging also?

I want to travel a bit. But need to make sure if a really cheap limited dataplan phone connection in place of internet would work with a site like this. Thanks.

Or any tips in setting this up?

Scribblehub don't use that much data.

Afterall, You're basically just browsing bunch of basic site with text. It would be amazing if you can reach 1GB just by reading stories on Scribblehub.

No it does not. The tabs load very fast, and mostly only text.

The only concern lies with the ads and loading in-chapter illustrations.

But they are few and far between, so I doubt they'll even get close to 100MB in size after a reading session.

I agree that SH does not use GB. My total monthly browser data usage is 1.15 GB, and this includes not only SH but various other sites.
Depending on your browser, you can limit or disable the loading of images to save extra data.
E.g., I have a browser called "Privacy Browser" for when the internet connection is very bad. It has an option "Display Images" that you can disable to save bandwidth.

Despite searching for a lot of novels, this is the basic how much traffic it consumed. Because this is essentially a database, you only need to load UX once into the cache, and it will remain there, with only new info downloading to you through the new link connections. If you avoid big images and focus only in text, you'll essentially never will run out of the traffic lol

Haven't been able to get it to load on my phone, so I just use my Kindle for reading and pause (or, if I have a backlog, automate) uploads for writing.

1 G per month, or per week, or per day? Thanks!

Year. Unless you are here 24/7 then maybe 2 months, but it will be pushing it. Forums will eat it much quicker tho.
Including images (if the story has them), it can be a day (cause nothing is stopping the author from uploading a 100MB behemoth). But highly improbable.
Covers and others are compressed to be in tens of kilobytes, so basically nothing.

So, realistically, you are looking at ~1GB per 4-6 months of data, if you stick to stories without embedded images in them, and occasionally visit the forum.
