I've been seeing more and more novels posting the beginning of a story and blatantly saying to continue a series they either need to go to another website or purchase the rest(as the rest of it won't be posted on scribblehub) of it and I was wanting to know if this was against content guidelines. I know posting missing or incomplete chapters counts but I'm not sure about this.

Technically you are right since these works won't be classified as "original series" cuz...a series is longer than that.

Such stories, while they would be available on scribblehub, they won't appear on the new series tab or the latest updates tab

The same applies to one shots, poems, collection of short stories etc.

dont quote me as this is just my perception but i think if they're straight out posting just 2 or 3 chapters and saying "you have to go elsewhere or pay to read more" that'd probably be breaking some rule.

Where i think exceptions might lie is where novels were/are freely posted to SH but have been shrunk to just a few sample chapters per volume/book as well as currently ongoing chapters due to publishing with some sort of exclusivity clause (like kindle unlimited). Those i think are fine because they're posting ongoing chapters and prev chaps are only removed upon publishing.

Preview Chapters
Do not post a preview of a chapter and tell your readers to go somewhere else to read the full chapter. It's fine if you post a full chapter and tell your readers they can go to patreon to get more chapters, go to another site to read more if more chapters are posted on another site or just an alternative site to read on but the full chapter should be posted on this site too.
This also includes purposely not posting missing chapters to force users to go read the chapters elsewhere. Example: Posting chapter 1, not posting chapter 2 so users can go read it elsewhere then posting chapter 3, etc...
This also applies to anything which forces the users off the site to find missing parts between the chapters off the site.
An exception to the preview chapter rule would be Amazon/Kindle Unlimited. If chapters were removed because of Amazon/Kindle Unlimited's policies then that would be okay.
