Recommendations Collective conscious and DNA memory

I want (preferably on the hard side) sci-fi novels with main themes being either humanity having a collective conscious or humanity passing down their memories through DNA.
I prefer if these would be published books or short stories from, say 1950s to 1980s.
Language doesn't matter.
