I know I already asked about this, and I got some great responses.
So.... Regarding what I would say is still a placeholder cover, what does anyone think about this?

Slopped it together myself.
Love it? Hate it? Free toilet paper? What do you think?

Sorry, but I don't think it's good.
My eyes had a but of difficulty trying to catch what the title is, what with the lack of highlights on the texts and the swerving effect that makes it harder to read it.

And this is on the big screen, not to mention how much harder the visibility is when it is put as the cover art, when it is inevitably in a much much lower resolution.

Sorry if this comes off as crude, but those are my honest thoughts. Hope you can fix the glaring problems I just mentioned.

The font is horrible. Not only is it barely legible, especially for those with bad eyesight or colour blindness. The inconsistent letter doesn't benefit anything and only serves to make it less legible.

The hexagonal pattern also looks really stetched, and again has no contrast, so the details will be lost when scaled down and for poor sight.

The cover manages to show nothing about what the story will be about. The blue has nearly no contrast and fails to stand out. As for the lettering... please consider using a font.
Consider adding other colour. Not only will it make the cover more interesting, it will help improve legibility.
(Sorry if this is harsh, but I have any positive feedback other than blue being a good colour. But even if it is a nice colour, you need legibility and contrast.)

I could make a better one using microsoft paint and 2 minutes. The main issue is the font, it's not good, it would also be better to have a subject in the cover like a place or person or some object at least.

I mean... It's common knowledge right? Canva is the first result when you search for book cover makers on Google along with Adobe etc.
What would be more helpful is a free source for art because the templates are copyrighted maybe (not sure) I think and you would want complete ownership of your covers.
And the good templates are usually paywalled.
So y'all got suggestions for art sources?

I think I've reached the same consensus, after enough time has passed. Even I am not liking it. So much for getting a good placeholder cover quickly. The good things will just have to wait.

Crude and brutal is what I was hoping for this specific thread. All is good.

It's been so long since I used Canva that I have forgotten how to even use it. Font is also a big issue, since I do not have any good technology/apps which make any good fonts. At the least, worth looking into, but I'm not holding my breath for any good templates.
Also, did I read that right? templates are copyrighted? as in, the images? What is even the point if this is true? I'll find out for myself anyway, but not until I can look at it on monday.

Well, still a placeholder, but I have put together a newer cover. The before and after no longer compare.
