I see that as a win, so 2 for me. But better background with more emphasis on the guy, the current one's pretty flat and the contrast could be flipped.

The blue one is better... but I won't vote for it unless the aspect ratio matches the standard. But, if you can change it to be portrait instead of landscape, it'll be great.

I prefer cover 1 but that's mostly because I really genuinely dislike that very specific kind of artstyle.

More importantly, I very, very strongly recommend you do not release the story the way you are doing. Your series list is a mess and chucking dozens of chapters out at once like this is just about the best way to make the algorithm bury your work. Delete everything, then release it all under one header and only a chapter at a time.

Starting to look like Cover 2 is losing. I knew something about the face bothered me somehow, just couldn't quite express it in words.
Maybe I need to just redo the idea from the ground up. Don't know if I should trust AI though.

More importantly, I very, very strongly recommend you do not release the story the way you are doing. I plan to collapse and combine them. Too many have already pointed out they'd rather have them all combined into bigger books. I won't however be hiding chapters which have already been released.
