Edit:
Apparently, my sister does not remember where this 1000+ chapters novel came from, but she guesses that it’s either Chinese or Korean. She does not remember the characters’ names, but all she knows is most of them have Western names because the setting is mostly in the West. So here is a better description of the story and the main characters.
The story is about the journey of the three young apprentices who study under a powerful mage. So far into the story, it’s just about them honing their skills and being tested by their mentor. I never directly read this novel, but as far as I know, it’s also searching for the FL’s real identity.
About the Main Characters
Female Lead: She was found abandoned in the human world by the mage and his wife. The girl has some kind of special mark and the couple sense something is strange about her. The wife, who is a fairy, can see the future and when she looked at FL’s future, she sees that the girl possesses a great amount of power. Later on, the fairy speculates that she is a hybrid of many creatures, including fairies, magical beasts, and monsters. Though she looks like a human except she got pointed ears just like a fairy. The reason why the mage took her as an apprentice because of her unknown identity since she might be a threat to the universe. Also, her gift for potion making and/or herbal medicine.
Male Lead: He was born to a human and mage family from Asia on a small island. His father was not a mage but he commands the army of that island. His mother's side was a mage family and it was pretty well known. He specializes in making magical equipment, and his maternal grandfather took note of it and asked the mages in the area to teach his grandson. None of them accept his grandson even though they acknowledged that he was a talented mage. Because there aren’t many mages who specialize in making magical equipment in the East, they have to go to the West to learn from the famous and most powerful mage to teach them. At first, the mage doesn't really want to accept his grandson because he doesn't want to have any more apprentice. But his grandfather insisted on letting his grandson tryout. So, the mage gave him a test which is to make a magical accessory for the FL without knowing her specialty. He only passed the test because she gave him a hint about her specialty.
2nd Female Lead: She was born to a strong and well-known family of mages, but they were all killed in a single night by the evil faction. The only one that survives was her, who was protected by a magical beast that she unknowingly make a contract with. Her aunt from her mother's side brought her to the powerful mage to see if he sees any potential. When he first saw her, his magical beast was suddenly summoned and seem to be fond of her even though they just met. He was surprised because that ability was rare and it was almost extinct as well. The mage took her as an apprentice for her special ability and to be the FL friend so that she’s not alone.
Previous Version:
The story is about a powerful mage/magician who fell in love with a fairy, and he trains himself really hard to become powerful to achieve immortality so that he can be with the fairy. After he becomes powerful and married the fairy, he only took powerful or talented mages or magicians to become his apprentice. Then after they leave his apprenticeship and separate their ways into their faction he goes on and travels around the world with his wife(?). Many people had asked him to take their children to be his apprentice but he usually rejected them because he see no potential in them. Then sometimes later someone or the couple found a baby girl with a mark from an ancient or rare race/tribe/clan and they send her to the fairy realm. Then another baby girl was found after her whole family was killed in a single night. Finally, after a few years later the two girls grew up and took apprenticeship from him. The girl with the mark specialized in potion or herbology. Then the girl that had her entire family killed was something related to control magical or spirit beast (this is one of the rarest ability in the story). A few years later, another apprentice had joined them. He is from a famous(?) clan and he specialize in creating stuff (which is pretty rare in the story as well). The powerful mage/magician students are powerful than others at their age who usually train in a magical school/academy since they get to explore all their potential without wasting any resources like the magical school/academy. This all I’m going to write if you have any questions then feel free to ask :)
