Synopsis
A 30-year-old woman, dying of lung cancer, decided to finally act on her obsession with mice since she didn't have long to live. She had had this obsession with mice for a while but never really thought to act on it outside of doing extensive research on mice in her free time. Outside of that, she never thought to actually go out and collect any due to the fear of what other people would think. However, after she had been diagnosed, she decided to finally go for it since she didn't have long to live. She wouldn't let the opinions of others stop her from doing something she knew she would enjoy before she died. So after a year of traveling to gather and adopt mice, she had collected over 25 species of mice. However, this endeavor of hers soon came to an end when she was told she only had a month left to live.
After making arrangements for her mice after her death, so they could find new homes, she found herself going back home to spend her last month with her mice. Somewhere in the process of going home, she came across a strange black mouse of an unknown species she had never seen before. At first, she thought it was a Nonagouti due to its color, but not only was black but it had a purple tail and eyes. There was definitely no species she knew of with this discription. She ended up taking this particular mouse into her care due to its unique and cute aesthetic.
After spending time with all her mice and caring for them, the dreaded day finally arrived . She soon found herself laid out on the floor dying from an illness that so rudely invaded her life and stole time from her that she could never get back. During her time of self-loathing and waiting for her impending doom, something strange happened. All her mice came up to her as she was getting ready to pass and embraced her body along with the strange-colored mouse, almost as if they were aware she was soon about to pass on. Even stranger, the oddly colored mouse was actually physically shedding tears on her face. But then something even weirder started to happen, It began to glow, emitting a blue blinding luminous blue light that began to spread to her and the other mice surrounding her, she just assumed this was that light people would see when they where dying and embraced it, she then closed her eyes and soon found everything becoming deathly silent, into sound finally came back to her ears, but the sounds she was now hearing where now very foreign to her she also found herself feeling different almost as if she was now inhabiting something or someone new.
Along with that feeling, she found herself opening her eyes once more, almost as if she had blinked herself into another existence. Honestly, this feeling wasn't too far off because the new scenery being displayed was definitely not her home.
