Chapter Notification

I had a doubt that the readers don't get a notification when a new chapter is posted. When I asked my readers, I got the same reply. They had to regularly check if a new chapter is posted. I just wanted to know if it also bothers other authors, and if yes, shouldn't they fix this?

It's not a feature that exists on this site. So it doesn't count as a but that needs to be fixed. Some people have stated it would be pretty annoying for those with large reading lists to be bombarded with notifications of stories being updated. Which would defeat the purpose of updating people in the first place.

Personally, I wouldn't mind having an option after putting a story in your reading list to have an extra option afterwards to get notifications for that specific story. Kind of like the bell with youtube.
