The MCs of Danny and Taylor are finally beginning to master the very basic spells of Leray magic. As most wielders use these spells for future combat against other mages, Danny and Taylor are taking a lighter-defense approach, and with good reason. The secrets of Leray magic are not entirely revealed for Danny, the question of why its continued unpopularity persists in the outside world.
Taylor doesn't care anymore. With her true intentions behind leaving Kalamo revealed, the plan to get back home to their families has become twisted and warped. Out there in the real world, both of them are powerless. Here in this mysterious country, Danny and Taylor have magic powers, and simply being here shields them from the scouts of the Banshee Kindgom.
