Just from the directing and animation alone you can tell that Mappa put a lot of love into the story of one of the best modern manga publishing right now. Something I'm surprised about is how they only adapted the first chapter into episode 1. Usually anime episodes will adapt at least two chapters, Attack on Titan for reference, but they managed to only adapt the first chapter without making it feel like it was dragging on.

I'm honestly curious how far the first season will go. I'm expecting it to adapt at least the first 20 chapters, which I'm sad about cause the Manga really kicks off in the arc after that.

I'm calling it now though. Chainsaw Man is the newest edition of Attack on Titan syndrome. Hopefully there won't be a four year wait for a second season though.

It slapped pretty hard, but soon we will have more of Makima's "dogs" coming out of the woodwork.

Part 1 is already done and with the hype and Fujimoto's writing, season 2 is fixed thing I say.

Also you dare to compare this raunchy, subtle as a brick, dirty, weirdly comedical and out of this world series, to a mid? And the hell is "Attack on Titan Syndrome" even?

Attack on Titan syndrome. What happens when an anime gets announced, get an astronomically huge amount of hype, then it comes out and people praise it relentlessly, only for a year to pass and people start calling it "mid" to piss off fans of the show, and fans of the show respond by calling the haters' shows "mid."

Then the next few seasons come out, where it will then shock everyone out of their boots when they realize everything truly did mean something, and people start calling it a masterpiece of masterpieces.

As you may know, Attack on Titan is currently in that final stage with it's fourth season, where people are saying it's the best show ever created in the history of anything(it's not but it's still damn good), and people that want to see the world burn are doing everything in their power to piss people off by raging on the internet.

Kind of like what you're doing with this:

Okay firstly, you should know between the lines that it's a joke... half joke.

Secondly, having read the manga of Chainsaw Man's part 1, I can assure that it won't go wherever the fuck AoT went.

Fujimoto has two thing that Isayama lacks in the writing department, consistency and not assassinating his characters.

Yeah. I know. I don't take everything one hundred percent seriously. It's the internet, why take anything seriously. Unless someone wants to actually open up a debate, I take what people say with a grain of stupidity.

And yeah, I know Chainsaw Man isn't doing exactly what AoT did. I've read the manga also and am keeping up with part 2. They're completely different series written by completely different people. You misunderstand me. I'm not talking about story content and how the writing will progress. I'm talking about the impact it'll have on media and their respective fanbase and detractors. Attack on Titan became so big it wormed it's way into pop culture as a whole, something that's only been done in the anime sphere by Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Pokemon. The closest to them would be the other two of the big three, Naruto and Bleach, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and MHA.

Chainsaw Man is looking to became one of those anime that becomes a whole beast in itself, much like Attack on Titan. That's what I mean by Attack on Titan syndrome.

And for that final sentence, I disagree as a whole. Isayama didn't assassinate any character. Did he write bad dialogue. Definitely. Armin saying that line to Eren(not specifying for spoiler reasons) made me cringe out of my seat. Any characters assassinated? Not really.

Btw, unless there is a huge meme potential plus a super catchy opening, Chainsaw Man won't get as popular.

The opening is pretty catchy and has a lot of movie references, like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and as someone that's read the manga, the meme potential is endless. Especially with Power and Denji's relationship. They're pretty much the best chaotic duo one could ask for.

I haven't read the manga, but from what I've seen, there is nothing that makes Chainsaw Man stand out. Quality doesn't count because it doesn't make something popular. Does Chainsaw Man resemble Jagaaan or Dorohedoro?

Well maybe read the manga and you'll figure out why it got so popular in the first place. It's hard to describe exactly what makes it work. The best I can say is that it's an incredibly good manga that utilizes both comedic and serious moments incredibly well. The characters are all memorable and recognizable and so on and so on. I can't go into specifics because Chainsaw Man is worth going into blind.

Like, just read the manga. Don't say there's nothing that makes it stand out if you haven't even read it yet. Or watch the anime as it releases. There's also that option.
