Truth be told, you should always have a local (or/and cloud like google docs - always have an alternative in case one storage medium fails) copy of your work and
THEN upload it to services like SH.
The point is; that if you have your whole work only on SH and any sort of database problem occurs, or the site just stops working, then you (can) lose everything.
Personally, I see no need for that function as it could open the possible way for other people to quickly download stories (they already do, just one chapter at a time) and make it much easier for them to make money out of it (yes, it happens often).
Yes, it should be accessible only to the author of said novel, but my point above stands - there always can be a misconfiguration allowing bad things to happen.
