I am currently brainstorming for my try at an Iseka. Don't have names or much for it.

Setting: Another world fantasy (Thinking of doing it less modern than the one I have atm.)
Protagonist Type: Weak-minded, frail, suicidal, not the naïve kind~
Protagonist Job, Race: Human, Priestess
Ethic: Tragic, Romance, Adventure

Plot Summary:
Undecided name wants nothing else to do with her world. Thus, she throws herself out of a building. Instead of peace, she finds herself in a new world surrounded by demons. Worst yet, one wants to marry her to prove to the world he conquered her. *She is the being that is supposed to bring his terror to an end.*
Challenge: The demon king wants to marry her, but she only wants to die.
Style: FP
Inspiration: I saw one too many truck-san isekas. Never seen one with self-harm, so I want to make my own.~

I hope I answered this right. lol. :blob_aww:
Suggested Short Title: Suicidal Saint Queen
Suggested Long Title: I threw myself out but became a saint, also the bride of demon king jacka*

Read about two mangas with similar plots, save for the isekai part. Don't remember the names, though.

Title - To raise a Demon Lord by Spilled Soup
I like your concept. Although the MC sound like an extremely terrifying mother with high expectations.
Stop trying to steal my ideas!!! Never!

*runs away crying.*
:blob_hmm:What ideas?
"Such a loyal paladin"

Clap clap clap !!!!
Romcom script or just comedy drama? I'm guessing.:blob_joy:
-
@Mysticant , The Genres for your story concept would be Psychological + Horror, considering the setting. But I do dream in a similar way. Was the MC supposedly trapped in Limbo or comatose state? Hardcore. Liked it.:blob_hide:
-
@Armored99 , wild west ooh! Will you be incorporating a Wendigo, Uktena, Thunderbird, Underworld Panther, and seven abominations in it? Although the summary sounds more like evil ghosts and cursed telegraph.:blobtaco:
Seeing his predicament, god gives him the power to redo his school life each time he fails one of his exams, letting him accumulate so much knowledge he can pass for an idiot savant and with a lot of hard work, become a functioning officer in the galactic military.
Challenge: Pass the officer's exam and become an officer in the military.
. . . . . . @Lloyd , I think you might need to take cautions with this one. Will your MC's personality and ability develop with his mental disability for the better or just worse from being a natural Cheater?:blob_hmm:
-
@Generik0 , I like your theme. So will there be consequences for tampering with the cycle:blob_hmm_two:
Ethic: Eehhhh, Dunno. Self discovery by abandoning reality and gaining a body she's happy in?
So happiness is found in illusion with a time limit?:blob_hmm:
-
@TrashyHuman, About your "Challenge - write it without any real world religious references"
Just write what you think an afterlife would look like, in a neutral Antitheist viewpoint. (One who don't believe in faiths, but of deaths.) Just be warned, you may get angry comments from readers who might think otherwise. But do not be discouraged!

Nope. Being a Nightsider means leaving Dayside Earth entirely. Your old body would be left behind and you would permanently inhabit your Dream Avatar. Hence how it's more isekai. Wouldn't feel very isekai if you're only there when you're asleep. At least, not as modern Isekai tend to be.

That would kinda fit in similar with VR games like Sword Art Online with trapped players or dreamland saga with braindead people.
In this case, it be characters who abandoned the Dayside Reality by going into permanent sleep? Is it possible that for every power being misused in Nightside, can cause a tear in the boundary between Night and Day to allow for Otherworlder invasions?

Basically, though stuff happening to the body wouldn't matter to the Nightsiders. I mean, they could find out from friends and go "Oi! Who killed my coma body?!" or something. But even if the original body dies they wouldn't. Oh, most people would just be "Dreamers", only people who get, really into Nightside would become Nightsiders. The MC would just be the first one to cross that threshold. Some sort of hidden value measuring how much more effort you put into Nightside than Dayside? And I certainly didn't intend it as a VR like thing. It'd be a distinct, though closely connected, actually extant space. As for things in Nightside affecting the Dayside, certainly. Wouldn't live up to the world invasion aspect if there was no way for it to be a "real" threat. Hostile Divine figures or certain powerful monsters able to cross over, or mass destruction in Nightside being echoed in Dayside. Say, you punch Pangea hard enough in the right spot and Florida breaks off of North America. Maybe some littler stuff too, like the Day based classes actually needing to take items to Nightside that they can't take back out.

I didn't meant to say that the concept is same as VR. But more like people who are stuck in a state where they can't be alive or dead at same time?
Just wondering, do the characters I meant Dreamers have the ability to travel and shift back and forth between two different reality-time?

Is it the "Demon Lord want to die" or Negative Hero and Demon General?

Its supposed to be a lead-in. I want someone who isn't aware of that aspect of the world, but has some reason for becoming entwined with it (I was originally thinking of a ticket master). This is so the reader can be organically introduced to the world. I will admit what I wrote was more spooky theme, but I was trying to compress some bigger ideas down into a few sentences. So, I cut some corners.

Not quite sure what you're asking there. So I'll just answer with my first thoughts to each question.

There'd probably be a video game like respawn system for Nightside, but for Dreamers they'd wake up if they die in Nightside, and would just have normal dreams if they fall asleep again within about twelve hours. Nightsiders would just have an hour of downtime before they could spawn back in. Probably at a safe location and with some kind of penalty.

As for traveling back and forth relating to time. Time between night and day would be relative, so if you sleep for six hours, you'd be in Nightside for six hours. Anything that would wake you up on the outside would take you outta Nightside, and you can decide to "Logout" and automatically wake up.

Title: Please, Lay Me To Rest.

Setting: Modern world

Protagonist: Warm, kind, understanding ------- [ Fast forward into the future] ----> warm, kind, understanding, cold; bone-chilling cold!

Protagonist Race/Job: Human/Housewife

Ethics/Themes: Revenge, Redemption, and Resolution

Plot Summary:
The night where a life was born, another was lost. But with determination, Lia gathered her strength, and powered herself through. For the cry of her child the night he was born was not something she had misheard. Her child did not die.

Plot idea: A widow secretly searched for her newborn, while veiling herself as someone who's delirious to gain the trust of her newborn kidnapper(s).

Challenge: ones enemies, in this case the kidnapper(s), is closer than the protagonist thought.

[A newish story of mine that has been sitting with dust, only published once(chapter one) before laying the rest to 'rest'. Inspiration sure is hard:blob_frown:. But I'm hoping to revive the story soon.]

Ahem, another one :s_tongue: I promise this one is new!

[ Told from the protagonist sister point of view ------> who's kind of like a protagonist herself]

Title: Let Me Carry You To Heaven

Setting: Modern World, specifically the entertainment industry

Protagonist Race/Job

protagonist's sister: Human/ Boss!

Protagonist, himself: Human/ No job-----> Be a good little brother maybe?

Ethics & Themes: Tragedy/Romance/ What's mine, is also yours-----> Sharing is caring :s_smile:

Plot Summary: ChengCheng tries to persuade her introverted brother to be more selfish, to be more greedy, and to seek more of the thrill of life; because all she wants, before her time ends, is for him to be set for life.

Plot Idea: A chronically ill, rich heiress guided her adopted brother through the stages of love before she died.

Challenge: Chronic illness/the protagonist dark past

Inspiration: Drama ( Eastern/Western), Anime, Manga, etc.

P.s, NO INCEST! I repeat, NO INCEST! Regardless of the title name. This is a BL novel! :s_wink:

Title- We Tried to Summon Heroes to Save Our World, But Wound Up With a Bunch of Deranged Murderhobos Instead!?

Setting- Generic(-ish) Medieval Fantasy World

Protagonist Type- Unlucky, Weak, Righteous, Honest, Cautious, Underestimated

Protagonist/s Race/Job- Human, Assigned Organizer/Manager of the Summoned Heroes' Party

Plot Summary- A besieged kingdom turns to arcane assistance to assist them in their struggle against an unrelenting, seemingly unstoppable invasion by a 'Demon King' and his forces. However, in performing the summoning ritual to bring over a small group of champions from another world, when the Goddess responsible allows them to request the five qualities which they desire their band of 'heroes' to possess most of all, they focus exclusively on martial attributes, and neglect to mention anything along the lines of empathy, compassion, restraint or self-control. As such, when the Goddess accepted their request, the group of six individuals (from multiple backgrounds, across our present-day world) who were summoned and empowered by the ritual wound up being a band of deranged murder-hobos. And our protagonist/MC curses his fortunes in having been the unlucky sod who got burdened with the duty, prior to their arrival, of managing and coordinating the 'summoned heroes' campaign against the Demon King's invading forces; even though he's got his hands full just with the PR campaign alone, trying to cover up and/or smooth over their ever-increasing list of atrocities. How the hell is he supposed to make this work?

Challenges- Trying to keep a group of deranged murderhobos (incl. trained terrorists, religious extremists and racial supremacists) in check, attempting to prevent them from murdering him, each other, themselves, and everyone/thing they encounter, assembling assistants to sub-delegate work to, identifying and organizing special operations missions to repel the Demon King's invading forces (and eventually, lead the invasion back into the 'Demon Kingdom'), preparing failsafes and contingency plans for when the summoned 'heroes' inevitably turn on each other and/or the kingdom they were summoned to save, retaining as much of his sanity and moral integrity as possible (i.e, not much)

Style / Inspiration from- A few sources, including Shield Hero and The Other World's Wizard Does Not Chant. Additionally, individuals such as Kyle Rittenhouse and Shamima Begum provide the inspiration/templates for a few of the summoned 'Murderhobo' characters.

Might as well make a justified Protagonist who will have to kill off these murderhobos just to stop their violent corruptions of his world.
Why? Why do people always choose summoning as the always go-to method instead of traditional hero?
-
I pity that character's sanity.

Well yes, that was the eventual conclusion for the protagonist's character arc, and final challenge which I was aiming for (both to stop their violent corruptions of his world, and to salvage what's left of his sanity). But it takes a fair while for him to reach that stage, and it'd also be immeasurably easier said than done (since they've all been granted extremely powerful artifacts and/or abilities as part of the summoning ritual- which is also the main reason why they chose summoning as the go-to method in this story, having been losing their war badly with traditional heroes alone).

@DesiRable , It's very interesting and your plot idea is definitely diving deeper into a very dark world, probably one of no return. I am going to have wonder about this protagonist's breaking point. What would it take to become the last straw that break his camel back?
If the protagonist survives, chances of him becoming a Demon God is very likely, or worse a tragic monster compared to the heroes summoned. At least his tales are justified compared to the other manga whose idea if to kill off all the nice and powerful ones, which I find incredibly stupid as shit when dealing with feral or uncontrollable monsters.
