Hello everyone!
I'm a newbie in here and this is my very, very first attempt of micro fiction story.
As an aspiring author your comments, reactions and etc. are highly appreciated.
Enjoy Reading and Thank you.

Title: ‘Unsolved’

They finally found the murder weapon; a kitchen knife covered with red blood.
"Officer, I swear it wasn't me!" said He, pleading his innocence to thee.
"Officer, it wasn't me either!" said She, pleading for mercy to thee.
Confused as hell, the officer scratched his head in incredulity.

Obviously it was the butler.

Or the Officer.

One pleading for innocence. One pleading for mercy. Why they are pleading in the first place? Panic? If they weren't the actual murderer, they should play it cool.

Alright officer, Just catch both of them.

Thank you for the response. Will also consider this during the editing.
It was the author all along
If I were the officer I would highly suspect 'She'.

Maybe "A kitchen knife covered in dried/dripping/congealed blood." or "A kitchen knife dripping blood, crimson shining over steel."
Crimson is nice if you really want to describe its coloration.
