As a new writer is it alright to work on 2 or 3 stories at a time?

I'm new to this writing thing but I like the idea of making stories.
The issue is I'm not that confident in my stories just yet. So I'm writing fan-fiction.
Should I focus on the story I'm currently publishing or is it alright to continue working on other projects?

I hope so. I have five posted and about five more at various stages of development.

Edit: Though, to be fair, I've found I can really only handle three at a time.

Yes. It is okay. There is no law against it.

You may or may not find it difficult to manage multiple stories at a single time. It's not for everyone, but maybe it is for you.

Try it. See how it goes. Adjust and adapt accordingly.

As the one above said, there is no rule against it. Would I recommend it? Heck no. To start with something new means to experience failure(in most of the cases) and grow from it. If you have more than one series at the start, you may fuck up all. And, its tiring like reallllly tiring. The few viewers you will have in the beginning won't appreciate it either, as you won't just focus on their favorite work of yours.

However, If you want to, do so. We are all different, and perhaps you will success.

It's really in what you can handle and produce at any given time. I have only recently started 2 at a time. Recent being within the last year.

There's no hard and fast rule, I mean I've followed authors that will put out 3 stories in a week and update them fairly regular.

Don't put pressure on yourself to do it. This should be a fun project and give a sense of relaxation... Or it is in my case.

Be Well, I hope this helped.

No, writing more than one story at a time is considered a felony tantamount to high treason against Almighty Primordial True Venerated Great Pardon
Virtue Venerated Holy Emperor TONY-sama, under S.H.'s Agree to Stop Slop Act of 862.
A.S.S. Act of 862 prohibits the simultaneous penning of novels to reduce the number of generic novels on the site, with the minimum sentence being a public quadruple execution and the forfeiture of personal property to the state of up to 88000 high-grade spirit stones in value.
Source: Me. I made it the fuck up.

The real answer is you can. Some authors think switching between stories keeps writing each one from feeling tedious and allows them to look at them from a different angle. It's also a way to procrastinate on a story you aren't writing.

There's no rules or laws against it, but it might be a handful for some people. I think that writing two stories at once is a good medium ground. You can switch to the other one if you get burnt out or hit a dead end one with one of them. Your mind isn't completely focused on one story all the time which can get tiring after a while. But I also don't post anything until I'm 100% done with it, so I also don't feel any pressure about uploading.
