Are giant sea turtles overrated?

I just got probably the hardest image prompt I'll ever see for my latest chapter, and it's all thanks to me being a huge sucker for Discworld.

Then, I realized I'm literally a dime a dozen when it comes to fantasy authors coming up with "unique" creatures. Should I consider brining my own twist on the subject or just roll with it? Here's the chapter for reference:

I find people's fascination of "Giant Turtle Islands / Worlds" to be cute. I also think they're cool.
Many people actually like them so it's technically not overrated.

At this point, why not go for the Reincatnator Orange Zone route and have giant beasts and not just turtles. When Avatar Korra doing it, I was kind of saying no, hell no.

Also, why not giant armadillos? There are shell based creatures not just turtles.

Also, giant flying whales for sky people.

I mean, it's quite literally one of the humanty's oldest concepts that appears in stories across cultural boundaries. It is an image and idea deeply rooted in our subconscious. Does that make it over-rated? Perhaps. But something about the idea continues to facinate us as a people. I see know harm in experimenting with it.
