One thing I'm noticing is that my fanfic piece has been very slow on attracting attention. I've put the requisite tags and everything, but I can't get any more readers. I'm not really doing this for the love of the game tbh, I want to tell my stories to others. I'm just wondering if fanfics are well received, because most of the stuff here seems to be original works.

I dug up your profile and saw the problem: it's still too early to ask for noticeable traffic. Your story has seven chapters and 4.9k words. Try fifty chapters and one hundred thousand words at least.

Seven chapters with 200 views is still normal. Give it time, publish chapters regularly with your current pace, don't forget to edit often.

Fanfic should be no problem as long as you tag it as one.
