Another novel I remember

Got another vaguely remembered novel, but this one I know more of.

The gist is, there were people chosen to be sent to another world, and their lives would be livestreamed to the people remaining on Earth, Twitch-chat style. MC had a friend who was set to be one of the few to be chosen, but she hesitated on it. She dies (iirc) and instead the MC gets chosen for some reason to be isekaied. It's a jp novel, and I read it on novelupdates.

I agree, but the parts where he cried somehow made me cry too. Guess that counted as tear-inducing for 14-15 year old me.

To each their own. It pushed the right buttons, so nothing wrong with that. Moreover, the problem comes after that.
