Have you ever encountered an "And then everyone clapped" moment in stories? As in, moments where the author's self-insert power fantasy is not so subtle... where it's clear the scene is just the author's adaptation of their shower thoughts/revenge fantasies. I know it's the core of many stories, but sometimes the author just doesn't try to hide their spite, you know?

Do you have an example?

You mean like... the entirety of wise man's grandson? Or whatever that story was called...

Occasionally I catch myself writing scenes like that and USUALLY stop myself or tweak them a bit.... usually. Don't recall running into one elsewhere (unless facetious posts to Facebook count - then I could find two accounts rife with them in about fifteen minutes of searching old posts), unless it obviously was done as a self-referential joke (recall seeing this done well exactly once and attempted one other time but don't recall where; was a few years ago).
