It is not a novel but a comic book, Hellblazer has a protagonist named Constantine who fits that narrative. However, if you are looking for the series to be centered around romance as one of its major points, that probably won't be the right comic series for you.

i would love to write one but there is just no audience for it. People that seek BL wont like the ML being wiht a girl, people that seek traditional romance wont like the ML being with men, and people that often seek bisexual MC want them to be a girl instead... so yeah, no audience

Well . . . yes? I'm sure it is somewhere. Use the series finder. I mean I know one where the main character likes a girl who happens to like girls and then ends up with this guy. It's called 'Frying Pan' By the user Continue (My friend)

Usually, adventure novel that is focusing on hardcore action only has straight protagonist. I am trying to see if there is interest for bisexual or homosexual male lead in action novel.

If you are looking for that sort of content, go read wuxia or xianxia novels, as many of them have BL elements. Though most of those novels are blazing dumpster fires, you might have to sift through a bit of them before you might find something with a semi-decent plotline.

I cannot recommend any specific novels, because I don't like reading romantic and/or sexual stories featuring homosexual themes.

There's interest. Actually, the first example that comes to mind is loads of stuff from Greek mythology.

If you want to write it, then do so. At least a few people will want to read it, and considering the lack of material, they'll probably be quite grateful as well.

Maybe this could help you.

This might be more useful.

Berserk is not a romance manga you know. There are romance elements when the characters develop relationships.

My question is the same.

I am not searching for romance novel or manga. I am searching for action novel or manga.

Let me ask you a question here, and I don't mean to rude, but if you're looking for an action story, why does the sexuality of the protagonist matter unless there's also romance in it? Like, if you're looking for an action story and no romance, whether the MC is bisexual or not is completely irrelevant. That little detail means nothing in an action story, at least in my opinion.

Also if you're looking for a specific story, you'd have better odds having your thread in the section for readers, not this section.

The "I'm Looking For..." section to be more specific where this belongs.

That's exactly what I am wanting to hear.
For as long as I have lived, whenever someone mentioned a novel about a bisexual or homosexual mc people will always assume it is a romance novel.

Thus, I begged the question "can't there be action novel whose mc has a different sexual orientation?"
It feels really weird for me when the communities I knew have such skewed common sense.

Most assume the mc is hetero purely because it is the most common orientation statistically.

But if you stopped to think, their orientation barely matters. The mc could be sexually attracted to cooking equipment and that would probably just end up as a sort of running joke. You can take a non-romance adventure novel and just make the mc bisexual, gay, or whatever orientation in your head canon. It would work since the mc's orientation is often unstated or unimportant.

Personally I just relegate the mcs of such novels to being asexual. Because even if they weren't, the plotline clearly seems to indicate as such.

You'll have to write something out of the normal for the genre to signify a different sexual orientation. Take for example Harry Potter and JK Rowling turning everyone gay. Okay that's an exaggeration, but she confirmed Dumbledore is gay. Now, in the books, there's nothing there that shows Dumbledore is gay. But if she did write something there showing Dumbledore is gay, then it would highlight that fact and already affect the tone of Harry Potter because why discuss that in a magic story for kids.

That's for novels. Web novels are also different. Web novels are mostly structured for wish-fulfillment, so you can't market an action novel with a different sexual orientation that easily as the market for action novels are generally straight guys wanting to self insert in the action scenes. It breaks immerision if you point out the MC is different from them. That used to be a problem with female MCs actually, but it has been several years already and the community has sort of adjusted (although many still don't want female MC for self insert if the reader is a guy), so maybe in a decade or so web novel readers will be fine with a bisexual MC in a self insert story like let's say an OP MC isekai or something mainstream.

Ah yes. The market.

The driving force of competition and are also the force of devolution.

It surely is a sad tale that we became the groveling servants of the market demand and not the gods we are.

Thank you then. I see that the world has yet to diverse as I have hoped.

So true. Don't we all wish that the world would just adhere to our ideals for it.

Personally I'd love if every single person had the same opinion and mindset as me. But make them pretend to deviate so I can have the facade of debate and argument without having to really challenge myself.

It's a good thing to find a like-minded person like you.
