I am hijacking the Gaming Discussion... lol.

Ahem. Time to play the sequel... yay. More grinding, more suffering... man, I am really putting my vacation to good use. By the way, you can read more about Amayui Labyrinth Meister by reading it on the site.

As usual, I'll just leave the playlist instead so I don't have to clog the thread with my videos... and then have a review at the end.

I personally think Eushully took a serious quality drop during the early 2010s after Tenbin no La DEA. Until then their games were top-tier in both gameplay and storytelling. If they ever consider remaking Himegari or are picking the Ikusa Megami series up again, I'll consider re-applying as a fan, but currently, their games aren't for me.

If you aren't burnt out of Eushully games after the current one, I'd strongly suggest Soukoku no Arterial. One of my personal favorites.

Personally, I'd have the Meister series as my last stop for now since I have other games to finish. Either way, unless I find something interesting with the story then I'll bite... but this will do.

I still don't know why some of the good games of Eushully are the ones that don't have translation lol... some barely pass with just MTL... anyway, thanks for the recommendation.

I can finally write the video with the final upload about to be released!

I'd like to address the changes in the system. UI had been furnished into something new—it's more complex than the first one which I'd have to decrease my rating for a little bit. Especially within dungeon, you can't immediately right click into status... which it may just be me, but having to deploy then go back to status or use potion and clicking two button is annoying.

Good thing is that the system has been simplified, so no more crafting to progress the story. It's all dungeon battling and reading so it wasn't all that bad. The game has also become hard and even more grindy... with the addition of Genma, you have to do 2x the amount of material hunting... so this game is not impatient players.

But here we introduce the Union feature—it's practically combining two characters and being able to share skills and stats. It's very useful in dungeon exploring especially splitting and switching mains in certain situation. Both characters also gain exp benefit from battles so there's no reason to control individual characters. And. We have divinations... now, this allows the boost of EXPs and MATERIALs so it definitely helps a little in alleviating the suffering.

The usage for wide area attacks have become even more irrelevant and you can still spam void elements to push through the battles. The music also doesn't help while the game is really repetitive because of the sudden transition to battle and exploring osts. There are definitely potential in this type of concept but it still hasn't improved.

Dungeon exploring is a def 8.5/10!

Now... to the story... it's okay. You don't really feel left out of not playing the prequel and most of the characters so far have been fleshed out a lot... excluding Zinamea because she had little effect on the story and the only thing I barely know about her is that she is from another Nation... although, it was kinda stupid that her support and the war never happened... I really don't get what happened during Chapter 7 but everything became so shitty that I think the author was cooking weed just to get the happy ending.

There aren't really interesting points that you'd want to invest on since the only thing you'd do is travel to a place, get a new ally, finish three dungeons, then leave. Rinse and repeat. Most of the story really only flourish through events that are seemingly so irrelevant to what is going on because they are more on the character than the plot.

I hate how fluffy it had been through all the build up. All evil has been unleashed and yet, the reward over beating this evil is so lacking... with all the grinding and stuff, and all you get is "oh, i, a solo boss has been defeated" and then goes to the next plotpoint. I swear, it was interesting during the reuniting with allies, but there's just not enough interesting things that could make me not want to SKIP the entire story.

Story is 6.5. No shit. Avaro should just get into his temptation and reach out on his son's drawing book LOL... also what the fuck was wrong with those segments? and the "I have to gather certain materials to get hscenes" events are dumb as fuck... don't tell me I have to hunt for a rock next... don't make this harder for the both of us game

Anyway, I won't be playing some for the meantime... GGWP
