Hello! Ever since I was about 12, I wanted to start drawing, but for some reason I never went through with it. I wasn’t good in art class and even had to switch courses because I was so bad.

Today I decided I’m finally going to do it.

For the next four weeks, or until January 1st, 2026, I’m going to post my weekly progress every Sunday.

There isn’t much to show today. I just watched a few tutorials and made a small plan for the coming week. I’m planning to invest around two hours a day.

The picture I added is what I did today. I just wanted to test where my skills are right now so I can see how much I improve.

This is awesome!! I love posts like these! I'll be watching your progress. You can do it!! :blob_highfive:
Be sure to not be discouraged if you feel as if you're stuck on a plateau! And remember that it's fine if you miss some days to not get burnt out!

I'll be rooting for you :blob_paint:

I tried a similar thing last year where I tried to draw every day, though I wasn't a complete beginner (haven't really tried to draw anything in almost a decade). However, I only made it about 40 days in before life got super busy. Even so, I still saw a lot of improvement in those 40-odd days, so I think you'll learn a lot :blob_hmm:

These tutorials helped me a lot when I was starting to teach myself how to draw.

Just don't mind the pencil, dust, and other distracting stuff on the pages...tis an old book from mid-2000s, when I was starting to get into drawing.

Personally hate old beginner how to draw manga books. They don't explain enough why and don't go deep/at all into the real beginner anatomy stuff. Also the 8.5 head figure reminds me of the old, old yaoi seme stereotype that already died out. You only see the modern version of it in korean novel cover spaces.
