Most of the humor in my story comes from Iggy the baby dragon doing crazy things, not straight-up jokes. But there's a pun-loving skeleton dragon named Humerus who shows up sometimes. He tells actual jokes...albeit super corny ones.... :sweat_smile:

Maybe it would help to start with urban fantasy? So you'd write something that's mostly realistic but has just a few fantasy elements added in. Then you could add a little more with each story and eventually work up to a full-on fantasy setting.

Some reviews are objectively wrong, though. I've seen quite a few reviewers grossly exaggerate or misrepresent parts of a story. Or even get things flat-out wrong. Opinions aren't right or wrong, true, but if you can tell that a reviewer didn't make a good faith effort to read and understand...

Uh...no. That's not what personification is. Those are literal descriptions. Dogs do, in fact, walk. Plants do, in fact, grow. Personification is when you ascribe human actions or feelings to a non-human thing that isn't actually capable of those actions or feelings. It's a type of metaphor...

Strictly speaking, English only has two tenses: past and present. It has the functional equivalent of other tenses, but they're formed by adding auxiliary verbs, rather than conjugating the main verb. So it's easier to understand tenses if you study another language where they actually exist.
