Nothing like working in a cold bank all day only to come home and find out your furnace finally died. And it’s snowing outside. Hooray for snuggly cats, we are cuddled under the covers together.
Thinking about this question, I realize I use them a lot, but usually paired with an expression (Adair questioned, his eyes narrowing.) Or with an action (Lord Greene stated, slamming his hand on the table). Of course I don’t do that with every tag. But rarely do I bust out with a plain (he...
Ugh, I can definitely relate to that. People will try to talk to me and I sometimes just grunt like a caveman. Like I’ve used up my mental allowance for the day already, sorry.
I am so unmotivated after today, the bank where I work usually sees around 40-50 people a day. We had over 140 transactions today. I basically talked to a small village. All I want to do is sit and stare absently at the wall.
@Hans.Trondheim oh yeah, I do feel like I’ll return. I have had one heck of a week. I never wrote for platforms, I wrote because I had a story to tell. It’s probably where I’ve just been so burnt out on life lately.
That’s a good way to look at it. I do get enjoyment from it. It just feels particularly heavy tonight. I’m guessing I’m burnt out from my week. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster. Work and personal life.
Sometimes I just feel like I could be spending my energy on something more productive. I’m basically just writing because I had a story I wanted to tell. When I started, it was an idea I had just for me. I never thought about anyone else ever reading it. But even then my family was always like...
Ever have one of those nights where you question if continuing writing is even worth it? Where you just sit back and objectively say why am I spending so much energy on this? Cause I’m in that head space tonight. I’m sure it’s because I’ve had a horrible work week and I’m feeling burnt out...
It depends on if it falls into the constructive criticism category, or a reader mismatch category. Some people may think something is slow or boring. That could potentially signal a pacing issue. But it it’s something that ultimately does move the plot along, it could just be reader mismatch...
I was a huge LOTR fan as a teen. I came up with a username I can’t even remember how to spell lol. It was like Celebrindbal_Tamiril or some other monstrosity 😂😂
That’s gonna be me this week. I work 50 hours coming up since my coworker is on vacation, so I kind of wanted to hit a certain milestone before going into hibernation ?
Sounds like you had a good day! I am off work and snowed in, so worked on book 3 of my fantasy series. Wrote about 2000 words, making it up to 45,000 total. So about halfway done with the novel.
I think they are neat! I have a few steampunkish elements in my fantasy story, mostly revolving around the goblins. But it doesn’t feature heavily. I would love to write a goblin steampunk story tho!
