As a reader, what is your attention span tolerance for the minimum and maximum number of sentences in a paragraph?

"As a reader, what is your attention span tolerance for the minimum and maximum..." As a reader?.. Why do I feel like I might be the only reader to post to this thread? Isn't there "A place for Authors to Bicker" area?

Is it bad to Poll my readers on this sorta stuff?

Do authors pay attention to comments for stories posted long ago. Or is commenting that I liked "whatever" 2 years after it's release just taking to myself?

Is it bad to Poll my readers on this sorta stuff?

I think polls are a great way to interact with readers who are hesitant to leave comments. As a reader, being the 16th to say TFTC seems pointless. But expressing myself in a easy multiple choice poll, I'm in.

y'all I need help im losing motivation for my book

The request was "help im losing motivation". I decided to help the person instead of being critical of the work and adding to the doubts. There's times when being supportive is more important than a harsh technical dissection, I felt this was one. From the superior tone of your posts, it's...

y'all I need help im losing motivation for my book

Being a cis-het male, BL isn't really my thing. But I read the 1st chapter and your writing is fine. I felt the infatuation was kinda cute actually. IMO as long as you enjoy writing, keep going, you'll have readers.

Do authors want readers to point out spelling/typos in comments?

Nope meaningless. No thought or effort put into my user name at all. The one on RR stinks too.

Time4T understands, Time4T will remember you, Time4T wishes he didn't pick his user name from a Vanity license plate.

Do authors want readers to point out spelling/typos in comments?

When I started this thread I thought my answer was "Yes, I'm helping". By the end it was "No, better to not risk effecting the authors confidence". So now I'm mostly "No" unless I'm 100% sure I'm doing more good than harm.

Well, I might start posting here after all.

Very OP female MC (I like) w/Zero smut (shrug) I just worked.

Well, I might start posting here after all.

It didn't just happen. I've read about 100 chapters , maybe 250,000 words before taking an extend pause. Much of it's success is because, for what it is, it is done exceptionally well.

Question for research; role reversal stories

Just one more thing you'd need to adjust (or two depending on your starting point of view).

Do authors want readers to point out spelling/typos in comments?

Admiration, real or pretend, used as a sales pitch is crap.

Do authors want readers to point out spelling/typos in comments?

"Even though most say "they" want critical feedback..." I don't even like publicly correcting myself!

Do authors want readers to point out spelling/typos in comments?

Even though most say want critical feedback, the more I think about it, the less comfortable I am giving it. Screw the typos. Not my job, not my place, not my problem. Positive reinforcement only. Thanks for the chapter, looking forward to the next... Author happy, Reader happy, done. I know I...

Do authors want readers to point out spelling/typos in comments?

I get it. Tread lightly and be pretty damn sure before saying anything. Even then make it a suggestion, just in case. Honestly, if I say anything, I'd want a positive response before ever doing it again.

Do authors want readers to point out spelling/typos in comments?

Pointing out typos seems a lot like the “Honey do I look fat in this dress?” question. Information wanted but… Sometimes the most helpful thing might be to ignore any imperfections and go with "you look great in anything”. I guess I'll just play it by ear.

Do authors want readers to point out spelling/typos in comments?

Part of me thinks I might be helping proof read. On the other hand it feels like it could be taken as nit-picking. Is it helpful or annoying?

Question for research; role reversal stories

The male black widow is still risking his life to breed. Male birds dancing, displaying and providing all, to catch the eye of the female mate. Males compete to impress, females choose who won... And, at the end of the day, the lioness can still say no. Bigger, stronger and dominant, these roles...
