Sketch: The Boy who Lost His Wings This is a sketch of a time between the Prologue and Chapter 1. This is Herald sitting alone on the boulder. He lost his wings and identity after a tragic incident he called the Reddest Night. Now, he sits alone on a boulder in a deep jungle, mourning the life...

Webnovel Feedback Roasts For the Fearless

That's a mistake many new author make. I had the same problem. I posit the problem stems from the case of the author knowing the story from start to finish, then writing the synopsis based on what they know. But for someone who'd never even heard of what your writing, that 'hyper mysterious'...

This is the cover art for Heraldry: The Sapphire Among Vines, Act III. It features Herald and Natalie in the foreground. Herald is a Wingly and Natalie is a Felid. In the background, on the right is the Wingly Kaelev (or Kaelen), Herald's guardian. The masked man is the traitor Sanballat, who...

    Garland's Gallery

This is a draft of the cover art planning for Sapphire First Arc, Chapters 1-5. This Arc is about Herald's intergration into the Ibis Felid Community. What do you think? Does it capture the vibe of an outsider with baggage being pulled into a found family with their own baggage? The three...

    [CLOSED] Unreliable Biased Feedback v3

Thanks for the review. 😀 Point number 1 noted. Point number 2 I'd say oops. Sometimes I looked around and see people older than me speaking in a way that is immature than what I expected of them. And then there's younger people who behave more mature than the older people around them...

I finally finished my remaster for Sapphire Among Vines! I never thought this day would come! Like... I'll probably give up somewhere along the middle and do something else. But it's really finished! They'll upload here as scheduled. Two chapters a week. It should be finished by end of May at...

    Story Final

Yes I do know the ending from the beginning when I start writing. But my first experience actually finishing my story is that I deviated a wee-bit 🤏 from my intended ending.

What's the hardest part of being a writer to you, and what common writer woes don't make sense to you?

For me, the hardest part of being a writer would would be connecting the dots in a logically and emotionally coherent way. I want it to be as realistic as possible in an epic high fantasy setting and not rely on plot armor or convenience.

Update: My story Sapphire Among Vines will now update twice a week: Sundays and Tuesdays. This story is drawing to a close. And the ending was not what I expected when I initally started writing the remaster.

    Garland's Gallery

I have come up with two versions of cover art for the 2nd arc of my story. I wanted to capture Natalie's dilemma in separating Herald from her brother, in finally accepting Herald as himself and not Nathan. Not that in the story she demanded Herald be Nathan, but Nathan's ghost had always been...

I will judge your book by its cover (pic, title, blurb and few pages) –– AI ASSISTED WORKS ARE WELCOME –– CLOSED (3/3)

Thanks for your review. That is very encouraging. :blob_cookie: Now I know my lack of engagement is not due to poor craft, but the type of story. And that's fine. It's what I want to write.

Pacing Issues with my 2nd Arc

Hello, fellow SHubbers. This is a more heavy request, requires more free time and attention span. I need feedback for the pacing in the second arc of my story, starting from Chapters 6.1 until Chapters 9.2 The details: Herald, discovers his resemblance to a dead boy of Ibis Village. With...

Writing How to handle sensitive content regarding the mother's childbirth scene?

Ooh, interesting. Straight up, I'd go for subtle. Because I myself had this scene planned for my third book, where my hero had to help the heroine pee... Because she was crippled at that time. He had to carry her to the washroom, set her down, *explicit content I wouldn't mention*, carry her...
