Good or Mad? My plot idea.

It unfolds in realtime beginning from Hero meeting Sister. Only the night Hero lost everything is flashback (in the form of a nightmare).

    A Sensible Thread

Too sensible. So his problems come from the unhinged people around him.

What's the smallest thing that could change your entire storyline?

The Sister vehemently insists on travelling with the Hero instead of letting him leave her behind in the village. Still deliberating whether this will change the trajectory of the story, then again, the choice is up to me.

Good or Mad? My plot idea.

I really need to ask now: Is my story idea mad? Too dark? To put it politely. Or bluntly, sadistically cruel? Now, I know we, as writers, should write what we like if it is just for fun. Only when we plan to monetize it should we be worried about reader reception. Honestly I am stuck somewhere...

    Garland's Little Gallery

Dynamic Pose and Anatomy Practice. Using the Number of Heads concept to divide the body and angling the shoulders and hips to create "dynamism". Never knew such small tweaks can change the feel of a drawing so much. Done using: Pentel Sharplet 0.5 with Pilot 2B lead, generic 2B pencil and...

Composition Practice: A vanishing point, dividing the body into separate segments, then connecting the lines. My first experimental Pokemon fanfic. (I didn't know posting two times in one go will combine the posts into one.)

Are 'em dashes' a put off simply because AI uses it a lot?

I was just re-reading the first book of Harry Potter. Lookey what I found, em-dashes. And a semi-colon. Quoted from the book: “Anyway — Harry,” said the giant, turning his back on the Dursleys, “a very happy birthday to yeh. Got summat fer yeh here — I mighta sat on it at some point, but it’ll...

Thanks for the detailed feedback. It's very encouraging! As for this good question, I shall simply use this image as my reply:

Seeking Feedback for my Story: I guess I'm finally ready to ask

Thanks for the feedback. Initially, I couldn't wrap my head around this because I write as my head narrates. All the AI I asked said I mix past and present, no no. Then I went to Reddit to ask real people and they said it mattered. Now you tell me the same too. That means this is a real issue...

Are 'em dashes' a put off simply because AI uses it a lot?

So far I can only distinguish ChatGPT generated stories. CGPT tends to use short, punchy sentences with repetitions. Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the endash. There was a time when Microsoft Word or LibreOffice Writer could automatically correct my dashes to either one or them. But seriously...

Are 'em dashes' a put off simply because AI uses it a lot?

What do you think of em dashes in a novel's text? Personally, I find em dashes quite stylistic. It adds variety to the punctuations we already know: periods (.), commas (,), question (?) and exclamation marks (!), colons (:), semicolons (;) and the simple dash (-). A paragraph with multiple...

Seeking Feedback for my Story: I guess I'm finally ready to ask

Alright. I've been sitting with my first three chapters for a long time now. I feel like I'm ready to ask for feedback now What do you think of the story's hook and pacing, the world building, and the realism of Herald and Natalie? (Like, how real are they?)...

    Garland's Little Gallery

A portrait of Herald and Nathan in mirror image. Couldn't really capture the '100% identical vibe because I can't really do 'vertical mirror' like on a tablet'. Graphite on Rough Paper, scanned with PDF app on smartphone. Tools used: Pentel Sharplet 0.5, Pilot Shaker 0.7, generic 2B pencil...
