Do authors want readers to point out spelling/typos in comments?

Ignore the naysayers, it's very helpful. Basically none of us can afford editors, and even if we don't take the feedback, it still counts as a comment, which helps with engagement metrics which are a factor in rising. No downsides.

    Looking to swap beta reads

Hey, like it says on the tin: looking for a beta reader. Posting here since I'd ideally like it to be a semi-experienced slinger of smut like myself. In return, I'd be happy to provide the same service. Probably a long shot, but if you have 500+ readers and have been writing for awhile, post...

    Shoutout Swap

To answer all of you: always a risk! Most of the people that reach out to me on RR for shoutouts are.... very nice. In those cases, you usually just ignore them. That's really the worst case scenario, no-one's gonna chase your ass down because you asked. Can you tell I support making this part...

    Shoutout Swap

Oh the shoutout absolutely was! I meant the review swap, while huge for my morale, wasn't important for visibility.

    Shoutout Swap

The way I did it was: 1. Find a story I was envious was on Trending, 2. realize it shared elements with mine and was well written. 3. DM the author (hi @SukiSays) 4. We each wrote a short blurb and put links to each others stories in the next chapters using the news heading. 5. Also did a reveiw...

Harems are easy to write, authors are just lazy

Idk man, I feel like conflict is what make these worth reading/writing, although admittedly I'm more partial to a polycule vibe.

How 'set' does a posting schedule need to be?

When I opened it, I had about 50 in the bank, so 4 months give or take. I added an extra tier for a month further ahead, and now I'm at about 30 chapters in the backlog. That's probably less wordcount than it sounds like: as I got more experienced I got better at keeping my chapters right around...

How 'set' does a posting schedule need to be?

Honestly a bit of a relic, they used to have a function to attach new features to funding levels. You can still keep track of it yourself through posts. For example, right now I have a post pinned that once we get to $150/month I'll hire a VA for an audiobook version of book one. You could do...

How 'set' does a posting schedule need to be?

3 scheduled days a week is more or less the minimum (but totally acceptable) to build a readership base. I do Tu-Th-Sun myself and have had pretty good success. More is obviously better, but I'm with you: tough to juggle life. If you find success, I'd suggest connecting extra days to Patreon...

What are your favorite, least favorite, and underutilized words?

Favorite: Amaranthine- Undying, Eternal Beauty Underutilized: Eschatological- relating to the afterlife Honestly don't have a least favorite.

When is it a good time to publish new chapters?

Truth, though Sundays are always my highest traffic days. I assume people are balancing out The Lord with Futa smut.

When is it a good time to publish new chapters?

Possibly, but personally I haven't found this to be an issue at all. A lot of people on this site are on it daily anyway, and they might not be on at the same time. Lol only really helps in early days! After that you have to figure out how to get on Rising, which apparently requires spells. I...

When is it a good time to publish new chapters?

Real advice: spread it out, hit different timezones. If you keep things on a rotation for awhile it'll help with visibility.

Not as bad as I thought?

I recently started cross-posting on RR, and despite my story being non-litrpg smut-heavy futanari superheroes, I'm already pushing rising in my genre. My experience with engagement has been really positive as well, particularly with other authors. People are really engaged with swapping...
