No, in the home page you shouldn't sort the titles. The last updates are just... last updates in chronological order. I've had no problem up to a week ago. When I published a chapter, it showed there in around 5 minutes.

You should reply whenever you can, and whenever you feel like doing so. If a reader is invested in your writing, I think they would appreciate even just a 'like' to show your gratitude.
